Good Morning All,

Heavy overcast this morning but the suns is supposed to come out later and the high should be just under 60F. Not bad. Still catching up jobs with two cars to deliver today plus the last prep for Pocono this weekend. Then it's just the other 4 big backlogged projects and I can start worrying about not enough to do again LOL.

Went to the museum last night and spent the evening sorting, cleaning and rearranging the storage for the O gauge. We have a lifetime supply of empty Lionel boxes and broken steam locomotives which we will keep, but the amount of debris was incredible. I was supposed to start putting down road bed but never got to it. It wouldn't be so bad except one of the other volunteers had spent three months supposedly sorting out and tidying up. (Mayabae i can get Gav to take a trip and help since the mess was similar to what he faces on a regular basis.

Rob - I assume you mean the PCM N gauge M1A? I have the blueline M1A in HO and love it but haven't heard much at all about the PCM's. I keep hoping though that they'll show up with a new run of the FA/FB's for HO and in New Haven colors this time.

as we remember, this is the Blueline M1A in the yard at home. Nice looking and running.

Well gotta go pick up tools and get on with it as I'm the only one in the shop today - the rest of the crew is enroute to Savannah while I stay back to go to Pocono this weekend. Catch y'all later,    J.R.

Morning all!

I had an interesting deal last night.  I was about to head to a leadership meeting at church when my daughter said that she had to talk to me.  She'd been out in the garage at the place she nannys at and was looking for an air pump to pump up the boys basketballs when she came onto a bag on top of the fridge out there (we store our ball pump on top of the fridge so we don't lose it, so it was only natural for her to look there).  She looked in the bag and found a couple of porno movies and a bag of weed.  She wasn't sure what to do about it.  I called the people up and told them that today was her last day and when they asked why, I told them.  They were endangering my daughter and their own kids by having drugs around.  I mean, what if the cops showed up?  My daughter, being a teenager, would likely get blamed for their stupidity!  And pornogaphy?  No, no, no!  They were a bit upset, but I don't care!  I told them to mail her last check to my work and gave them the address.  Then I had my daughter tell her backup nanny about it since they were likely going to call her as a replacement.  They had already called her and she had accepted, but when she heard what my daughter had to say she called them back and told them no.  Now I know that people screw up all the time.  Everyone does.  But I'm just not down with that!  Frankly, I'm kinda glad that deal is over.

BTW, the leadership meeting went real well.

Rob, the PCM M1 in N scale isn't out yet.  They've been putting off the release date for 3 or 4 YEARS now, and now they're saying "next year", so who knows if we'll ever actually see them.  It seems like the company was doing well in HO scale, and had 1 good offering in N scale, but they just aren't as committed to N as they are HO.  They can't even get the hoppers they announced for N scale like 2 years ago made, and those are just cars, not loco's.  In all honesty, I wouldn't hold my breath for the M1 project.  If it ever does see the light of day, it'll be many moons from now.

So whats up with you?

Good Morning, Zoe - I'll have a glass of Ed's OJ,

cup of coffee,

and some of Bill T.'s breakfast buffet, please. Thanks!

And speaking of Ed, wonder when he'll be back home?

Got a little rain last night, and more supposedly coming tonight and tomorrow (Thursday), so all our Ohio Valley folks, better reload those sandbags. More sunshine, please!

Rob, I'm hoping you counted all those little noses to be sure none slipped out, right? Wink [;)] Some goose you have there Shock [:O] - I've heard of some geese making good watchgeese around a place (but I thought they were supposed to realize the owner's supposed to be there!).

Gav, I'll notify the Rent-A-Dozer place to expect you to be in at the end of the term to get that 'dozer.Wink [;)] Or maybe Jeff would rent you that scoop bucket he has on his flatcar this morning. Do your little sweeties have to pay any kind of security deposit when they move in? Or if not, maybe the university/college might consider that...? Whistling [:-^]

PC, you gotta watch out for your kids (and others'). I'd have probably done about the same if it were my daughter. You did the right thing to pull her out of that.Yeah!! [yeah]

JR, good to see that steamer's pic again. Thanks for posting it.

Paul, I'm confused - I thought you said you were thinking about giving up 7.5 scale. Confused [%-)]

Our singles group was planning to head to one member's farm (kind of west of here) on Saturday to help clean up and pick up stuff (his place was flooded in that bad rain a week or so back). However, got a call and they've put that off, because the ground's still too soggy there.Sad [:(] Water table's not far beneath the surface in the outlying/flatter areas west or south of here, and even our ground in town is still fairly saturated.

The landlord did have someone working on the outside of the building yesterday when I was home for lunch. But it looked like he was putting in new aluminum 'board and batten' over the older wood style. Hope he got the leaking area above my floor's windows sealed before I got there. Don't want any new ceiling stains or water dripping inside again.

Best get to my breakfast and then get to w**k. Hope everyone else enjoys what sunshine you have today. Might be getting cloudy next couple of days.

Blessings,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

I will be praying for that family.  They're in a nice neighborhood and make a good living.  They supposedly go to church, but I don't know if thats a real thing or just something they do because thats what good suburban folk do, ya know?  I just pray that they work through this and that God draws them closer to Himself because of it.  I have no ill will towards them, but I'm not letting my little girl be around that if I have something to say about it.......and I do!

Morning Gang:Hee I am again for breakfast. We had some thunder storms last night that I just bearly woke up for and went right back to sleep. Then about 5am Mary Ann wakes me up to say she can't sleep and is going to turn on the TV. I guess she just wanted company. Anyway I couldn't get back to sleep so about 6:30 I got up and got dressed and tole her that I was going to get some breakfast and did she want to come. No point in letting her sleep in when she got me up.

It's still raining a bit and looks like it will be doing that off and on for the day and tomorrow. I went to the basement when we got in from breakfast and right away noticed the dirt and debri on the layout. I should have covered it before John tore up the flooring in the liviing room. So I guess I'll go down and clean it up later. At least there isn't sceanery so it will just vacumn up.

Well I need to get going. I'll see you all later.

John, from the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia ........I have a box on my desk.  I opened it, not knowing what it was (I get boxes across my desk all the time ya know), but found it's for a certain little boy.  I'll be sure he gets it!

And to the others who sent stuff .....I owe you all a picture!  I'll get on that tonight!

I guess an update on my son is probably in order.  Friday night is the banquet for his basketball team.  That is where all of the awards will be handed out, including the ones for the pizza drive.  We bumped into the coach at the store the other day when it was just the wife & I out and about, and he said to BE SURE and be there.  We assured him we would.  Then Monday we go to the doc's to have the casts removed and see how things are going.  They'll take some X-rays and examine him, then they recast him for a few more weeks.  Right now he's walking all over the place.  He's been fishing out back the last couple of days and really enjoying the sun.  He hasn't caught anything, but thats not the point.  The neighbor kids stop by and bring their poles and they all just sit out there fishing for hours.  He still gets those shooting pains every now and then from those nerves that are still waking up because they were never used before, but that has gotten better too.  Praise be to God for all of it, thats for sure!  My boy is going to be walking like every other kid.....something I never thought I'd see!  Oh, and the wife is getting along pretty good too.  She's using the wheelchair less and less all the time!  Good stuff all around!

I'm holding down the office while the CFO is out trying to get the shop puter fixed (the one I use is the cast off). It wouldn't boot again today and nothing we tried brought it back so enough is enough.

PC - I think you did the right thing calling and giving those folks a chance to clean up their act rather than just calling the authorities. And for sure getting your daughter away from there and cluing in the other sitter was correct as well. They may be distressed with you, but it could have gone a lot worse. Gotta protect the kids.    J.R.

I really debated about letting the authorities know, but in the end it's not about hurting people (I'm talking about their two boys here), but rather, it's about getting right and not doing stupid stuff.  I'm still not 100% sure I did the right thing about that, but at least my little girl isn't in it, and niether is her friend (they're family friends of ours as well).

Hello everybody ...

More rain. The lake here is about 12 feet higher than normal.

JIM GP (not CG anymore but GP) ... train show in Southern IL may be of interest. Search on 'Southern Illinois train Club".  It's in carterville, IL from 11 am to 4 pm on Sunday.  Carterville is west of Marion a short distance and is the town that has the Pizza Resyaurant that also is a Lionel train dealer. Chuck of Chuck's Depot in Marion said he will have his store open for a couple of hours in the afternoon, too. Normally, he's closed Sundays. There will be some guys from our area going together to the show and arriving at about 2:00 (I think). It's a chance to meet if you can do it. Bring other model railroad guys too if you like.

Inch and Jerry ..... I know you've said marion is too far previously, but if you somehoew could get there it wood be good.

PC .... We'll be gald to hear from you after the Friday night basketball event. Also, it's good your daughter is comfortable talking to you about that kind of stuff, and you can handle the matter apporopriately.

Happy Model Railroading.

Glad your son and wife are doing great. This is so cool. I'm touched just nowing about all this thru you.

***Philip, can't wait to hear what they have planned for your son. Cool [8D]Thumbs Up [tup] Also, good to hear the wife is making progress, too.

Found some EXCELLENT round bales at old prices, so nabbed two and will be back for two more first thing in the am. Might have to dip into train funds (if someone doesn't beat me to them) but it would be worth picking up all 6 of them. Hay is sooooo expensive (and sometimes nasty), these are like finding pieces of gold for us. Sure hope nobody comes along before I return in the morning.

***JP, did you notice any rain while you were out shooting photos?Wink [;)] Wish that UP loco had been the one closest to the camera, being a big UP fan and all.

Speaking of UP, I had my Kato 90/43MAC running on the test loop. It sure is a fine running & looking (IMO) locomotive. Some models are just too cool to let go of, even if they have no place in a steam era layout. They can be my designated Holiday Locos.

Keep waiting for my vintage Challenger to bid up on the-bay, but still no progress there yet.

Wonder why the (N) Athearn Challengers cost more than their Bigboys?

Evening Gang: I made some good progress on cleaning the garage. It rained a bit but nothing more then some drizzel of and on. Tonight there are some real bad storms north of us. At least one tornado west at Brekenridge. It hit the airport real bad. They had some pics of a L-5 Stinson on it's back with a broken wing. Really sad.

I think that I'll sign off and get to bed.

Good Night All
