Happy Easter Evening, Diners! Chloe, just a cup of hot cocoa for now, since I need to be fairly quick tonight. Thanks! (Sheesh! Four or five more pages of posts? You folks are killing me!)

Worship was super this morning, everyone (congregation, choir and the vocal team) was 'in the Spirit', the choir even got some compliments, and God is awesome (of course)! Even my car's antics didn't faze me much at all.

Jerry, I may have spoken a little soon about my car - Saturday night, as I was on my way somewhere, the seat belt light on the dash goes on, and a chime goes off (for several seconds, then - thank Heaven! - quits). Also, the 'airbag' (manual for the car says it's also for the passive restraint, so I'm guessing it's connected somehow to the seat belt retracter in the post) light goes on, and another chime goes for a few seconds. These periodically come back... (Likely due to humidity in the car - but we don't have any warm and dry weather predicted soon) Talked with the guy who got the car cleaned up for me, and he said there's a lot of padding (I guess he meant the seat cushion or the carpet instead of me Shock [:O]), and it may take a while for that to get dried out. I also asked if there was a way to pull a connector or a fuse in the short term, until I can afford to get it fixed. He said he knew of one time where the same fuse controlled the headlights and the chime/alarm. Angry [:(!] Ah, well, the car still drives fine and beats walking...

Hoople, great news on your Big Boy being on the way. Thumbs Up [tup]

Terry, 'nuther good joke!

Flip, good that your 'puter is working again. May it stay fixed for a lonnnnngggg time. Yeah!! [yeah]

PC - I'd agree with the others; get that rest. And Sign - Ditto [#ditto] what Garry said - your son will be needing you more when you get him home. Rest up! Yeah!! [yeah] You *did* say you were taking off work on Monday, remember? Sounds like your son had fun with his Easter egg hunt. Thumbs Up [tup]

Sign - Welcome [#welcome] GoofyMike01. You kind of lucked out, as we have a handful of our Diners who are stricken with insomnia lately. Most of the time in the wee hours, you'll have our virtual server Chloe, and the Diner, by yourself until the early morning crew comes in. Sounds like you have a good RR history in your family. That should be helpful if you still have pics from when they were working, when you get that MRR outbuilding going.

Bob B., Sign - Welcome [#welcome] back to the Diner (I think I recall seeing you in here before, right?)

Sue, you're coming along there with the scenery (ditto the others' kudos on the trees and the riverbank). Bow [bow] Bow [bow] How much more until Larry can extend the line to (where was it, the mine) where the RR is going?

Bob K., hope you and your daughter get some new ideas on the pics at the MRR club meeting. It'll be easier to set up the pics when the trains aren't actually running, I'm sure. Thumbs Up [tup]

I tried using my cell phone camera to get a photo or two of my layout tonight. Hmm, I'm going to have to figure out how to get more light on things, or else how to get the sharpness better than it was. I might post the photo tomorrow after I clean it up in the graphics program. We'll see...

BigBlueContail, Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the Diner, and have a cup on me! Fill us in on your layout and all - we're friendly and nosey. Wink [;)]

Rob, have you been getting some more sleep lately? Hopefully so.Zzz [zzz]

Time for me to head for bed, too. PC, are you sleeping or just playin' possum there? Better be sleeping! Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Easter Blessings,

Jim in Cape Girardeau (no, I'm not really your Dad, PC!)

Evening Gang:

Sue I really like that river bed. You did a great job.

PC: I have that problem with pain meds. Morphine makes me vomit and some of the others lock me up. Good that they have got it figured out.

Not much tonight. Both printers will not print color and my daughter needs to print out her resume in color. I guess tomorrow we'll go to Office Max and get them to do it. My printer is just old and really needs to be replaced. Mary Ann's is out of color ink.

Lee Thunder Bay is open and the locks at the Soo are opening today. You'll be getting busy soon.

Well I guess I'll head for bed.

Good Night All

Evening all,

Inch, it wouldn't surprise me if we had snow until May.  Easter egg hunt in the snow? I hope the eggs were colored orange or something easy to spot.

Sue, great pictures! Have you tried to make furnace filter pines??  Dorothy wants to know where the nekkied cowboys are, lol.

PC, sounds like you had a good time (best you could).

BigBlueConrail, welcome to the diner (I must have missed your first visit).

Bob "I caused an unbelievable wreck." Looking foward to the pictures.

Ok bed time for me as well,

Lee

I'll rest if Bob K. stops causing pileups on the main!

Serously, I just got home and I'm headed to bed.  My son needed dad there tonight!  We had take care of a few personal things (he was too embarressed to have the nurses or mom help), but he's feeling a lot better now.  He's finally getting more comfortable.  We aren't out of the woods yet, but we can see the edge of it I think!

Now if you don't mind, I'm going to bed!

P.S. - Only one egg gave him any real trouble.  Can't make them all easy ya know! Wink [;)]

Blessed Resurrection to All--

Played Vigil last night--8:00 to 12:00.  Yup, it was as long as I thought it was going to be.  23 confirmations, 10 had to be Baptized (the rest were former Episcopalians, LOL!).  That's a lot of verses of "Come To The River."  Angel [angel]

At least it wasn't babies, this time.  The last baptism I played a couple of months ago, one of the little dears got all excited and peed in the Font.  Kind of stopped the show, it did!Blush [:I]

Oh, and yes, I-5, the minute I got home, I ate the chocolate bunny's ears, LOL!Tongue [:P]

Played 11:00 Mass today--packed to the rafters, of course.  Then took off to my home town to bring back my 93-year old mother who is staying with me until her house gets re-wired.  Seems that the City decided to 'annex' our property, so I found out that our 80+ year wiring needs to be brought up to grade.  Oh, well--funny thing, for the last 158 years, our property has been right ON the city limits, and we were always asking to be included, but the city Council always told us that the original City Charter forbade extending the city limits in Perpetuity.  Of course now, when we could care less, the city suddenly needs a new tax base, so they're annexing an entire section--our property and about ten other 'county' neighbors.  I get to go back up next Friday to the city council meeting and find out further details.  Knowing my home town, all I can say--and please pardon me for saying this--is that if they're going to bend me over, they'd better learn how to kiss me, too.  End of rant.  Shock [:O]

I see it's gotten a little dicey on the rest of the forum again--think I'll just stay off and let the children fight.  Too bad.

PC: Did your son find all of the Easter eggs?  I sure hope that new medication keeps his stomach quiet--nausea is just not fun!  And you take care of yourself, too.  Keep us posted.

Well, g'nite all--got to spend some time entertaining mother--which means finding every channel on satellite TV that carries "The Golden Girls.'   Hey, it could be a lot worse--she could be a Soap Opera freak, LOL!

Blessings to all this Easter.

Had to post this before I get through all the others:

CONGRATULATIONS, Scott!! Good to hear the dream continues - and that you're making good money, as well as learning things quickly (and correctly, yes? That will save you time over the long haul in any job!). Bow [bow]Thumbs Up [tup]Bow [bow] Good to hear your girlfriend is okay with the work 'schedule' (or sort-of-schedule), too. Will you be getting a pair of longhorns for the front of the new car? Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]  Way to go!

Blessings and continued ones at that,

Sue,

My club meets every Mon and Thur. A few of the more active (actual workers) like to meet on Wed and Sat. It's amazing how much more is accomplished when you don't have a gathering of members in the "bleachers" watching and throwing their 2cents in. I guess it's like any group or organization 1 worker, 2 onlookers, 2 wanting to learn and 1 telling you how it should be done. None of this ever bothers me. I am totally used to working under scrutiny, I can block out anything when I'm on a roll. But it's a great group of guys. We do have a nice layout and a lot of fun with it.

I really believe I'm ready to jump back into the swing of things, the benchwork crew has been flying on a new peninsula. There's a ton of scenery to do.

Tommorow evening my daughter wants to come to the club and try some new techniques. It's a work night and no trains run 'til after 10pm. I may do some static displays if she wants. We'll be experimenting w/ her new D200. All her first shots were handheld just clicking away. She needs the refined in the action/ scenery. This time instaed of running trains through the scenes, maybe I can learn how to set up the shots.

I still need to get some copies of pics taken at our show last week. I caused an unbelievable wreck. One of the most sensational ones the club has had. Details will come with the pics. For some reason I can't figure why no one wants to run ahead of me. Dah

can't wait, love wreck stories (cept when it;s about me) our club pres maanaged to get a PRR T-1 to tip over on it;s suide on its own on some Boxcars. And they wouldn't let me grab the breakdown in time...

Sue,

Excellent scenery, thought it was a picture. Really like those embankment to riverbed transitions. How did you do those pines?

Bob,

Thanks.  The trees in the foreground are Aggro trees.  The ones behind the log bridge are butterfly bushes.  I was trying for the caved-in look on the riverbed.  Since the flooding in December, there are lots of examples locally.

How is your club layout going?  How many times a week do you meet?

Afternoon all another irish coffee please Janie.

Got home abit ago from the Easter at #1 son's house and we had the egg hunt during a  light snow.

This left me with a QUESTION, The old saying goes, if you have rain on Easter Sunday, it'll rain for seven more Sunday's [which holds true most the time].

Since we had snow today is it going to be snowing on Sunday till MAY ???

Interesting we have people modeling ore railroads from the Lake Superior area,  Your modeling hauling the ore to the ships in the upper Great lakes and I'm modeling a railroad that receives iron ore from ships in the Lower Great Lakes and hauling coal to be transported by ship to the Upper Great Lakes. ( I need to get the mainline done, last year we received 750M tons of the stuff)

Our first Polish Vessel should be in town this week (weather permitting) to drop off nickel and steel.

I hope everyone had a good Easter.  Thoughts and prayers to all.
