Art, the roundhouse peninsula looks really good.  Amazing what an impact a bit of paint and some ground foam can have!

Here are a couple of rail-fan shots off the layout taken this week.  An old Athearn SD custom painted and detailed ( not by me) crossing the stream with a small consist.

The Western Pacific hopper in this shot was weathered using cheap oil paints following the techniques on the Scotty Mason weathering freight car DVD's.  It was my first attempt at using oil paints and I have to say that I think it creates some very nice rust spotting and streaking.  It takes a long time to dry, but the results are good IMO.

Thanks, I've been waiting for someone to start this this week. I got some work done last week but didn't get the pics in time for last weeks.

Here's the latest update to my coal yard. It's slow in developing but it's getting some progress.

Here's my GP-9's, Pwd/Dummy. And a Proto1K CR boxcar in green and a CR 100Ton hopper, but the pic is junk so I'll have to take another. Can't wait to weather all of these.

Nice engine New Haven. I have spent most of the week assembling 14 Humpyard levers and  scratchbuilding a mechanism to opperate my turnouts with a lighted revolving switch stand. It has been an interesting challenge. I did add a coat of dark paint , some ground foam and some road bed to the new section. It looks better and will be ready for track as soon as I get the kinks out of the switch stand mechanism.

Before and after - what a little and and some ground foam will do.

Great start, Art. Should look great when finished. I wish the Walthers roundhouse had been available when I started my engine terminal because I think it is better looking than the Heljan and approximately the same size. A peninsula is a great place for a TT because it allows views from all sides. I placed mine inside a corner curve and I don't have quite as much access. Maybe I'll redo it someday if I can figure way to fit it in without taking up too much aisle.

Because I'm sending him this at the end of this month.

That looks like great conversion to a SP P-8.
