That looks like great conversion to a SP P-8.

Nice engine New Haven. I have spent most of the week assembling 14 Humpyard levers and  scratchbuilding a mechanism to opperate my turnouts with a lighted revolving switch stand. It has been an interesting challenge. I did add a coat of dark paint , some ground foam and some road bed to the new section. It looks better and will be ready for track as soon as I get the kinks out of the switch stand mechanism.

Before and after - what a little paint and some ground foam will do.

Great start, Art. Should look great when finished. I wish the Walthers roundhouse had been available when I started my engine terminal because I think it is better looking than the Heljan and approximately the same size. A peninsula is a great place for a TT because it allows views from all sides. I placed mine inside a corner curve and I don't have quite as much access. Maybe I'll redo it someday if I can figure way to fit it in without taking up too much aisle.

Thanks, I've been waiting for someone to start this this week. I got some work done last week but didn't get the pics in time for last weeks.

Here's the latest update to my coal yard. It's slow in developing but it's getting some progress.

Here's my GP-9's, Pwd/Dummy. And a Proto1K CR boxcar in green and a CR 100Ton hopper, but the pic is junk so I'll have to take another. Can't wait to weather all of these.

Art, the roundhouse peninsula looks really good.  Amazing what an impact a bit of paint and some ground foam can have!

Here are a couple of rail-fan shots off the layout taken this week.  An old Athearn SD custom painted and detailed ( not by me) crossing the stream with a small consist.

The Western Pacific hopper in this shot was weathered using cheap oil paints following the techniques on the Scotty Mason weathering freight car DVD's.  It was my first attempt at using oil paints and I have to say that I think it creates some very nice rust spotting and streaking.  It takes a long time to dry, but the results are good IMO.

Bought my son a Bachmman Casey Jones for his 9th Birthday, party is tonight.  I am hoping we will have some photos for next weekend to post!  He has been circling my collection and my test track for a couple of months yet, so I am sure he is open to building his first layout...

RRTrainman: Love it! Can't wait to see photos of the finished product!

Altoona: I have one of those P1k boxcars, got it for like $8 at a train show! New in the box!!Shock [:O]

Told you I'd have photos...Smile [:)]

I staged an old wreck from back in the 50s, in black and white photos. Forget where I got the insperation, might've been DocterWayne's essay on another forum about something like that...

Anyway, here are those photos:

And here's an extra train from the White River Jct. shops hauling the railroad's MOW equipment back from their "spring cleaning" to be stored at Concord till needed.

U23B #2306 in the lead

Snowplow 90001

MOW Personell coach 90010

Scale tester car 90021 (not weathered yet)

Bringing up the rear is caboose 95441

Another shot of the MOW equipment in the yard along with an old F7 used as a parts source.

Enjoy! Sorry, I got a little carried away with the photos.....Blush [:I]

Looks like some great modeling out there - BUT - some of the pics are too dark to see!!  If you are using digital, they can be lightened!!  Wasting space with dark and/or fuzzy pics is frustrating when you really want to see what the modeler has done.  "Lighten up"!!Wink [;)]

Here are some pictures from last weekends run. We had great weather and it was a fun day to run trains outside!!  Enjoy the weekend,    Michael

Riverside Station. Passengers wait to board the train.

This hydroelectric powerplant keeps the electric bill down.

This is a great spot to watch trains. I hope those fellows appreciate it.

Finally, this K-28 leads a passenger train through the desert scenery.

Simon's weathered hopper is a real eye-catcher. Top job! I'd like to see more of it.  Loads of great work on show, as always.

I'm building a diorama for photographing locos and stock. It's set in early autumn. Still much work to do to it, including the level crossing.

As always this is the best thread of the week!  Great work from all of you.

I have been doing a whole lot of the boring stuff that has to get done for my first NMRA AP Certificate.  Hopefully I am getting close to being finished.  Just thought I would show the paperwork for one of the more unusual things I did for the electrical certificate.

For some reason, the text boxes printed when I pasted this page into Photoshop....?  Edit:  Figured it out!

And finally the diagram of the control box itself:

I did manage to snap off this photo for a contest accross the street.  Junior and the crew seem to be taking a long coffee break to avoid starting work loading SLOW Boxcar #172 with field tile for market.....

I added utility poles and wires to my Oakhurst Railroad.  Poles from Walthers and wires are EZ Line from Berkshire Junction.  Tried to keep the wires out of the normal reach zones, but I will see how they hold up ...

Man you all have some great shots there! I have a lot of catching up to do before I can even approach you guys...but anywho....here are a few of my current work on the backdrop and background behind the frieght yard. Still need to weather the background structure and this is just a test to see how it all looks and feels, the tanks are photos that are stuck onto 3/16" foam core and just taped temporary for now:
