Why did you choose your screename?

Mine is a term my (now adult) daughter gave me when she was a little girl. It's sort of an in joke between the two of us. When I first needed a screen name for something years ago, I was going to use the format we were forced to use at work for our e-mail addresses (first initial and first 3 letters of surname) but it seemed so mundane so I asked my daughter for suggestions. She said Seamonster was the only thing suitable so now I use it for all my screen names.

Its an old nick name from not so long ago middle school when i had (or so the kids said) a mullet. sailor because thats what i do when the weathers too pretty to be outside. how the w got there, i dont know

Jeff Friesen used to play for the San Jose Sharks, was traded to the New Jersey Devils. [}:)] Marty Brodeur is the goalie for the Devils. I'd have to say that even though I'm not a Devils fan, Marty is arguably the best goalie in the NHL. He's always thinking ahead.

I work on real cars too as a hobby, or out of need sometimes. I wanted something with an automotive connection. I couldn't find anything i liked that wasn't taken (On another site).

Once a friend who is a pro mechanic told me that in England, in the early days of the auto, they called spark plugs sparkingbolts. That just cracked me up! So I took it as my screen name . Dan

It's a combination of my nickname (derived from Joseph) given to me by my parents and my unique identifier given to me by the Federal Communications Commission in 1990 officially licensing me as an Amateur Radio operator. I still have that original callsign and use it in several other areas, including my Yahoo! mail address.

I am "dragonslayer" (a.k.a. ðrågøñslãµër) because that is my MSN nickname, so I used it for the train forums because it would be easy to remember and thought that nobody else would use it. Turns out someone has, so I had to add the "87" (year I was born-- not 1887, 1987).

CP 1057 is the road number of a 4-6-0 steam locomotive that was restored for excursion service. When I was 11 ( quite a while ago now), my parents took me on an all-day excursion, sealing my fate as a railfan and model railroader. I still have a cassette that I recorded and have transferred it to a wav file.

CP 1057 is still around and sometimes operates on a tourist railroad in Tottenham Ontario, the South Simcoe. The dedicated volunteers that operate this rolling museum are great and I would recommend a visit for anyone who is within striking distance. I sometimes stop by and say hello to my old friend.

I almost regret my screenname, but I have used it for a long time and it is easy to just have one name for the many groups I visit. I chose it because the first time I needed a screenname I was actually "spying" on a competitors web site and as we are in the wood business, I thought it was appropriate -"Lyctus" is a wood borer beetle.
