Well I have been trying to get there for a year now.  I am wondering if anybody is going or has been there.  How was it?  Is that alot of vendors?  Alot of trains (HO) for sale?   I don't wanna waste my time if theres not much there.  Maybe I can meet some of ya'll there.  It sounds real good as far as I can read about it on there website.

I'm planning to go, although it is not the best show out there. Still for around here...

I like the small local swaps better.

It's on January 19th and 20th. It's a better show than many I have attended, and not as good as others, like Timonium  for instance. As far as bargains, you have to shop smart. I have been going to each show for the past couple of years, but then, it's not that far a drive for me.

While not the Greenburg show in Pa, I went to the one in Mass last month.  The thing to keep in mind that it is also a Toy show some many of the vendors are not selling trains stuff.  I do like looking at the Lionel stuff and seeing the things I remember as a kid.  I only left with a couple of blue box kits, but I had a blast at the show.  Bottom line - I don't think of Greenburg as a "hardcore" model railroading show and I think if you are expecting one you may be disappointed.  On the other hand - for the reasons above - I had a blast!

I would say...if you are looking for super deals by folks getting rid of collections or on used equipment, then you're better off sticking with the small swap meets. If you want to see a lot of new products in all scales, then the Monroeville show in about as good as you're going to find in this area.

Unlike the old Greenberg shows, most of the dealers with dollhouses are gone, but there are still some selling toys, die-cast cars, etc. That said, there are a lot of very good dealers with items for the serious modeler. You'll find a good selection when it comes to HO rolling stock, engines, track, scenic supplies, tools, etc. You don't see a lot of brass and craftsman type kits, but that's not the type of show for those. You will find a number of dealers with older or used products, but they usually seem to be the ones who want too much for everything and keep bringing the same tired items back show after show. Most of them don't really seem to be all that interested in moving their products. I don't know about anyone else, but those the dealers I get tired of seeing at every show. Other than that, I always enjoy the show and I think you probably will too.

as far as train shows like Greenberg's, I have been going to them for awhile now in NJ at the Edison NJ Expo Center, I usually go on a Sunday and stay until it almost closes. most of the train vendors will drop their prices the closer it is to closing, most times you can find some good deals. Most shows are geared for HO and up, there are some vendors that deal with N scale  but not many. I have to agree, that Greenberg since it took over the train shows in NJ has done some good, more and more train vendors are there. All in all I enjoy going to them, sometimes they have a computer show going on at the same time in the next room. That causes a parking problem sometimes. The Expo Center is a huge building all on one floor. The other train show that came there was The Great Train Show their web site is gtexpo.com,  and greenbergs is greenbergshows.com. There is something for every train modeler there....
