When you say "teenage" I hope you mean 19.

For the first 2 decades of our marraige I kept warning her that when she got to be 40 I was going to trade her in for two 20s. We both laughed.
On her 40th birthday I told her the time had come. She looked up from her book and assured me that I am not wired for 220 ..........
I have to agree with her. Besides, they giggle too much.
So now I'm not even considering trading her for three 19s. (It's OK, you can do the math, lol)
Well, he kinda sorta already did, courtesy of the used brass department at Caboose Hobbies in Denver. A big, hunking PFM model of a Rio Grande L-131 2-8-8-2 that runs like a top and pulls like a horse. Grinds a little, but you would too, if you'd been a display piece since 1964, LOL! Should have it in top running form by the new year.
Only thing I'm waiting for now is the newly released DVD of John Ford's big silent 1924 epic THE IRON HORSE about the building of the first transcontinental railroad. Ford used some of the actual Central Pacific locomotives in the film--absolutely HUGE movie with GREAT railroad construction scenes. Licking my lips for that one to arrive, I am!

Of course I need to finish unpacking a gazillion boxes, painting the dining room and running some TV cable before work on the layout begins - but hey, after 20 plus years of waiting, Santa got me a basement!!!!
It's only been 10 years for me, but AMEN to that Dave!!!!! I got a week off for Christmas break and some of that will be putting up insulation in the basement so I can get some heat down there. It's hard to wear gloves and work on laying track.
BOY! You have to be a REALLY GOOD BOY to get a present like that. I tell ya, I'm never THAT good for any length of time.......oh well...I can dream can't I?

You're right, I quit about day 7. I've never been known for my long attention span. Please forgive me.......
I know she bought me a Walthers Proto 2000 F7A-B for CB&Q and a couple of the P2K tank cars because I helped her order them onlijne. She also called me last week and told me not to look in our joint checking online account until after Christmas. The tempatation is killing me! But I promised and I do like suprises so we'll see what else my favorite Santa's helper is bringing me.

Kato F40 PH sound decoder and Kato Ac4400 sound decoder along with a Union Pacific Ac4400, and of course peace on earth.
A T55 ES44AC GE Demonstrator that I ordered and has arrived. I had to wrap it and put it under the tree because of the kids and the Santa thing but that's OK. She was also supposed to pick up 5 Intermountain Sultran gondola cars that were left at the local hobby shop for me. Other than, that I'll have to see after the milk and cookies have been eaten.

Last year I learned this Christmas business the hard way. When asked what I'd like, I said... "Oh, a couple of tank cars and a passenger station?" I ain't even gonna show a photo of those. So, this year I went through Walthers sale catalog and the regular book, wrote down exact product numbers, the price and if it was on sale or not, AND their toll free 800 number at the top of the page along side the words Dear Santa. I then posted it on the fridge door.
It worked.

Well, hopefully some track and an FDT Trackmobile in CSX markings, and MAYBE a Rivarossi C&O 2-6-6-6 H-8 Allegheny (with sound and DCC), but that one's a long shot to say the least.
On a side note, I know I model the modern diesel era, but I have a soft spot for steam. Heck, I just got a P2K Heritage C&O 2-8-4 Berkshire with sound and DCC at a train show in Nashville, and I love it!
Oh yeah! It may be off topic, but we are also getting an Olhausen 9' Championship Pro pool table for Christmas! (I guess you could say that pool is my sport)

Well the girlfriend got me a nice pair of Atlas Trainline Soo GP38-2s and pretty much my own weight in freight car kits (enough to keep me busy durring the off time around the holidays for sure)
I bought myself a whole new set of kitbashing tools and lots of paint as a gift to myself this year and if there is still enough money left over I'm going to spring for an Alps printer to make my own decals, which of course I'm quite excited about. Haha I'm also sure that they boys and girls over at the advertising department at work will like that too as I won't be begging to use theirs anymore.
Cheers!

Christmas? Heck. I'm turning 60 on the 28th. I'm retiring on the 29th. And those two events are rightfully deserving of something special . . . . so I've ordered myself a pair of K-27 Mudhens from Blackstone Models. And guess what, the hobby shop just called and said they're in. I guess I'll be leaving a few minutes early today. Oh happy day. May be Santa could spot me a couple of their new freight cars?

I'm probably not going to get anything train-related this year for Christmas or my birthday (Dec. 29) except maybe a gift certificate to a LHS or a subscription to a railroading/MMRing magazine. If I do get a model or scenery piece, it'll most likely be a low-end item.
To be honest, I'm not wishing for anything train-related this holiday season, nor did I ask anyone for anything train-related. I've had to set them aside because right now, I've got a lot of not-so-fun stuff I have to deal with. What I'm wishing for most is help solving those problems. Afterwards, I can build and play with my models as much as I want!
