GO PARTIOTS
I did go to another thread for my frist star just because.

You gotta be kidding! They just haven't found out yet what a ball we're having with this looney thread. It's taken on a life all of its own.[:D][:D][:D]
You know once in a while a goofy thread like this, is just the ticket. It takes the edge off. Much better than arguing about which railroad is the best. Or for that matter if it is railroad or railway.

You Said It. [bow][bow][bow]

How many threads are there for "Which Loco Is Better, Big Boy or Allegheny" or "Who is Biggest" all saying the same argument over and over and over again ad nuaseum. (hence my attempt at driving a nail into the coffin of "biggest loco" by revealing the lost legend of the atomic Russian "Big Joe")

Come on guys this is supposed to be fun, even if we are taking about nosensicle things like how this ridiculus thread has taken on a life of its own, it just prooves were not so serious as to not have some fun with it.

There are plenty of "serious" threads on this forum. Over on the Trains.com forum one of the most popular threads is devoted to posting humor and jokes, so the rest of you out there, Lighten up before your arteries harden[:D][8D][8D]

Come on guys Be serious. We've lost the point of the thread thingy here the "contiuance of stars" or something or other. Anyway I don't think they are giving us enough stars. 4 golds for a thousand? I think four golds for 750 and 5 reds for 1000 would be more appropriate. What about platinum?

Did cp5170 ever consider what he was going to unleash when he started this thread? We really should thank him, Any one heard from him lately?

I don't think CP5170 could have realised the out come of his origional post.
Everyone has the right to his or her opinion. It unfortunately got away from him.

Either way! I finally looked at this thread, after all the times I've come to the forum. Had to see "what-up" with this thread with all the posts! Personally, I don't care about my stars or numbers and if somebody wants them, I'm selling them on Ebay, CHEAP!

and back to the first page:
[8D] NEW IDEA: don't give stars for each post, but for the number of words someone puts on the fora, this will give more credit to those who take the efford to write good readable, clear answers that are fun to read, he who types the most eleborate posts gets the most stars, and the short answer dudes . . . . . .

[;)][;)]
BTW did anyone notice that if you delete a post it stil counts for your star rating???

There you go again using BIG words! If you please try to keep this "simplistic"! Can you say Big Boy? Sure, I knew you could. It don't get much more simple than that!

We're off topic again. Lets see if we can get topical and stay on track here.

Question? should we start a thread on railway quotes.

Oh Look I hit 301 and it's 139 on the thread, two numbers in common. Wow this is spooky!!!

Going back to CP5170's origional post, I do have to agree with him that some people have more experience in model railroading than others & they do have things to say about model railroading. I also look at certain peoples posts to see if they know or suggest something. BUT, when I go through a topic, I'll read everything to see if they've said something that I didn't know anything about or if they've done something different.
I personally am going through a learning curve right now.
I got a wiring diagram for some Hammant & Morgan switches through these forums.
I've also met on the internet some people who have emailed me direct to say "HI!!!!
How are ya?" just because I'm modeling a certain railroad.
Just because some people have some interesting things to say most of the time, doesn't mean that others don't any of the time.
These forums are about sharing ideas & knowledge with others & at the same time having some fun.
I prefer that we keep it as such.

In conclusion, as much fun as it was in participating in this topic as it was to read it, lets move on to other bigger & better things.

Just my [2c]

Gordon

[:p]you did all a good job posting while I was asleep, but what I ment was not the size of words you post but the amount of words you post, you get more stars if you say something in 50 words, than you get for telling the same story in 5, and if you break up big words into little words you also score more (keep it simple)

You score the most if you post like some wifes talk: with a lot of words saying nothing.

this is post 144 (and for my rating system it would get me:about 100 points )

149 and 14 to go:

I got one for the road:

who would share some knowledge with a #@$% foreigner and explain me what an "atta boy" is?? It sounds not too good,

pardon me, CNWfan5525 but this IS a MODEL RAILROADING GENERAL DISCUSSION FORUM, and a TOPIC is on "stars" so what else would you expect to post about ?
we would be [#offtopic] if we posted on something else,
as I did some posts ago[banghead][banghead][banghead]
