Great photo's as usual. Makes me look at how much I don't work on my layout, when I see how much progress alot of you all have made on your layout each week. I have been working on another southern car of mine. I gave it alittle dust and grime, and added a custom load. I am still messing around with the camera as far as croping, brightness, etc.

Thank-you!! I appreciate your remark.

Lots of great pixs this week. I too love that lumberyard very realistic looking.
My contribution to this weeks modeling madness is the final throws of my strip mall project. Not quite done but getting there. Store signs still need to be invented.

Great stuff as always. I've been adding a new industrial spur this week, but until I receive and build the structure I ordered for that effort, there's not much point in showing it.
The SOO is an old Athearn SD40 that I rarely run. I decided to practise some weathering on a "junk" engine before I took a crack at Atlas and Kato stuff, and figured that, being white, it would be a good specimen to experiment on. I was surprised to see that I had already had this same idea many years ago - when I pulled it from its box I saw that I had already tried to weather this engine years ago - and botched it up pretty badly. What you see is a an attempt to salvage it, but I think it's still a botched job. Live and learn.
These are a couple from the archives that I haven't shown before, and yes, I used photoshop for the sky and part of the hill in the head-on shot.
Salutations and appreciation to all you folks, past and present, in the armed forces.
Cheers.

Very nice start.

Thanks. It dosn't take muck to build. It took me a day to build the "bench work" and add the foam on top. One thing through don't use the White foam. It's messy to work with.

This yard shack is what I,m working on this weekend. Needs a fence and more junk and looks like I will have to start weathering some rails.

I think it looks fine! Other people have different perspectives, I weathered my Atlas SDP35, and I thought it came out okay, as the weathering on the trucks was kinda focused of a few spots, and there was a patch on the long hood that looked like the cleaners missed it, but my brother said he loved it even more than my Atlas U23B which I though came out awsome!
I'll be happy to take it off your hands if you want, give it a home where it can run, yuou know..........
BTW: I love the head on view with the signals!
Great stuff as usual everyone!!!
Oh, can anyone actually see my photo on page 2? I'm getting a little red X......
Rick, Hawks, TrainMan Ty:
Thanks for your kind words. Maybe it looks better in pictures than in real life! LOL. Anyway, thanks again for your encouragement.
Tyler, I see the pic of the New Poland station just fine (nice).
I'm a bit late as I've been busy painting all weekend. No, not a loco, layout scenery, or rolling stock- just my family room. Thrilling work...

The last four days, or so, photobucket contributions have often shown up as red X's, or taken an inordinate amount of time to load, and not just on this forum. Is it me, or what is going on? Brakie's last two came up as X's by the time I lost patience and initiated this post. Maybe they'll be up when I post this and return to the thread.
Edit - nope. I left the thread and re-entered to reload, but not even red X's this time.
Lots of fun seeing everyone's work.
Here's an "old" photo of a scene on my n-scale layout.
Lots of great photos this weekend, all.
Bruce, You are up to it again. Background blends nicely.

Anything is possible if you do not know what you are talking about.
Well just to bore everyone to death with this project , signs are up , stores are open. Last post of this project, aren't you glad !
Awww, I wanted a Victoria's Secret in that strip mall. Maybe this could be a "living" model, with a shop closing down now and then, being vacant for a while, and then re-opening as something else.
I'm still working on my stockyard and packing plant. I got a lot done this weekend, with the wife in Florida.
This is a really old Suydam model, which you've probably seen in other places. I saw it a couple of weeks ago at the South Shore Model Railroad club, but this one is over 50. I originally got it in a yard-sale Box o' Trains my Mom found when I was a kid. (Don't laugh to loud. Many of my turnouts are powered by Atlas switch machines I found in that box, and I've even got an Athearn F7 from it, running with a decoder.)
I'm going to replace the windows in the plant, and put some hogs or maybe sheep in the pen. The stockyard is part of the Walthers kit, cut up in pieces to fit it into this odd curved space.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

Gappleg, what did you do for road stripes?
Decals?
Lektroset tape?
Oh, and where's the Victoria Secret I promised you'd build for everybody?
The striping is 1/16th yellow pin stripe tape from the auto building aisle. At least that's where I found it in my LHS.

What a nice clean town. the way it should be, don,t let any lowlife crackheads hang around....
Jerry, Your strip mall has really progressed. You even have customers at the businesses already.
MrB, The packing plant stockyard looks great. Where are the cattle? is the plant closed for the holiday?
Great stuff, but who's the poor schlub who is publicly embarrassing himself by driving an AMC Pacer?

Probably Jay leno. Looks fully restored and must have bought it at the Barrett Jackson auction for $200,000
