Here are a couple of bright spots on my layout:

Photobucket

Photobucket

The concentric curved trestles are part of a helix (conical Helix?) the rest of it is in two tunnels.

The rail bus (top picture) is my own kit bash using an NWSL Flea with flywheel and a Jordan school bus kit.  Its pilot and lead truck are scratch built.  Think MR would be interested in an article about how I built it?

To all you other guys:  GREAT WORK!!!

That is a great looking sky, over a very well done layout!  Hope you'll fill us in on the backdrop.

A lot of great scenes to be seen ! With much of my Allegheny & Cumberland still under construction, I'm not sure if I have a " favorite " scene as of yet, but I certainly love engine facilities. Here's a busy day being had as a west bound leaves M&K Jct, heading into the Narrows....

Pages and pages of really great stuff.

outdoorsfellar,

I always like a nicely detailed engine facility also. Have you thought about adding a Chessie rock pilot to that GP40? It is one detail that is so road specific and really make quite a difference for the model? The Detail West Chessie rock pilot #205 and drop elbow air hose #AH302 are readily available and easy to install. The long centerset Kadee is needed, too. The rear pilot offered is wrong, I just shaped one from styrene and cut the MU slots.

And don't forget about the long hood mounted bell. Bad pic, but shows the placement.

That rock pilot is a great idea & would be quite an enhancement. I'm wondering though if it's available since my railroad is N scale.

One of my Favorite Area's on my Layout is the Diesel Fuel area, here a CN SD701 has just pulled in to be serviced.

CN Ordered 26 of these units with Isolated Cabs creating the only SD701's Built, they were numbered 5600-5625, this unit is #5610 and lightly weathered.

Well I like this scene shot on y own Maclau River RR in Nscale. It depicts how bad are the road at Port Allen and how kindly are the people at this town.

Charlie,

Beautiful photograph - among the most dramatic model railroad photos I've seen.  Reminds me of some evening railfanning I did along the BN line in the Columbia Gorge 20 years ago or so.

Here is Finger Lakes U23B on a sunny summer day.

My two MP bicentennial units.

One of my favorite shots. Wellsville Addison & Galeton GE132 ton centercab #1700 slugging it out against gravity on a steamy hot August day.

love it everyone.  This is(not partial or anything)my favorite post.  I get so many good ideas with these scenes.

Pike-62 i like the little switcher you built.  It came out pretty good.  Wish I could build half as good as that.

Nice shot. The little switcher is fascinating! How did you get the atmosphere effect

Everybody else- keep those scenes coming-they are very inspiring. Once i get around to getting a photo-bucket account, i'll post a few as well.

Hey Jeffrey, gotta love that bottom Tyco building!  I see so many 'structures' like that in 1 : 1.

Is that lighted billboard in the first shot a kit?

Over the past couple of weeks the Stave Brothers Cooperage acquired a Durrango Press crane and a Labelle boxcar.  Here are a couple of pictures:

Meanwhile, these two guys were going fishing at a favorite hole under the concentric curved trestles:

No. I got the billboards (I get them in 2 packs) at Hobby Lobby. It's a Model Power item.

With the cold temps & snow we've been having, it's easy to be wishing for those summer days to enjoy our favorite pastimes. It's always summer here on the Allegheny & Cumberland, & I love to look down the tracks to see what's comming next. Here's a eastbound coal train rounding the bend at M&K Jct. entering the east end before resuming road speed ....

I'm starting to like the Jack's Run area of my layout...  It's inspired by Spruce Creek near Tyrone, PA on the PRR Middle Division.  Spruce Creek had the only tunnels between the flyovers at Rockville north of Enola and the summit tunnels at Gallitzin.  There were also several stone arch bridges in the area, crossing and re-crossing the Juniata River and its tributaries.

Here's a (relatively) new scene of my kitbashed N scale PRR M1 4-8-2 dragging empty hoppers westward to Altoona:
