Yes, thanks for pointing that out. I was tired and kind of missed the probable irony, so I apologize for my remark. It was most unnecessary. Sometimes one shouldn't post while tired and before thinking about it!  Zzz [zzz]   Big Smile [:D]

Since you have them unnumbered I take it that you are going to number them for each loco?  I seem to remember that there are other detail differences between the different series of the locos?  Are you going to detail each of them as they would have been?

You right. I over reacted, I was just a tired after a long day at school.

I just thought it's weird, because most of the times when someone makes a claim and is called a liar they fail to show a picture, this time it's the other way around. Make it kind of pointless to try to share something that gave me great joy.

No it's not a trick photo and to be honest I think it's a bit rude to say so with out anything to base it on. Why do they look the same? Well because they are all PCM BB, why would they look different. Two of them have the number 4022 but they where all ordered as unlettered. One of the ones that have numbers have an unlettered tender. If you want more pictures to prove that I'm not lying tell me how to do it. There is no reason you won't call them fakes either so I don't know the point. But ask me and I'll try to supply another picture, my digital camera is right here.

What a shame...

So we heard of this man who had a small fortune so me and the boys decided to break in and collect the goods

Upon doing so we couldn't find anything of importance but a bunch of Choo Choos.  So we left with only the TV.  Our sources didn't tell us the fortune was in Big Boys

I think Magnus may be the first modeler to own more of one locomotive class that a big class 1 railroad ever had.
I don't think so.  Many class 1 railroads had some class of locomotive where they only owned a few and it is easy for a modeler to get more than the prototype had.  One instance I am certain of is that I have many more D&RGW Alco PAs than the prototype had.   I think I have more Santa Fe E8s and NP 0-8-0s than the prototypes.  Nothing as majestic as a flock of 4-8-8-4s though.  I think if I was going for a prototypical number of big steamers it would have to be the DM&IR or NP Yellowstones or the NP Z6 Challenger fleet - OH now that I mention it there is another one.  I have more GN 4-6-6-4 Challengers than the prototype did (prototype=2 me=3).

You're not the only one Lillen, a guy at our club has almost as many big boys in brass (he wants em all) not to mention all the other steamers he shows up with every other week.

He runs them on the layout, but not very much. -I find it strange for the amount of $$$ he puts into them. My Atlas GP 40-2 I got on sale for $65 will be worn out and ready for new parts before his are ever broken in!

Magnus, on a more serious note (how can anybody be serious about this Cool [8D]), unless it is merely an artifact of the camera lens, the glass appears to be sagging...understandably...but I wonder if you might be better off lightening the load by a few engines.  You can ship a couple to me and I'll store them safely.

No, really!!

Thanks for noticing this, I went and checked and you where right, the glass was actually bending from the weight. So I moved some of them. That would have been a fun crash!

For those who think your collection is redundant, I have a counter argument.

A member of our Thursday night group collects Northern Pacific power.  He has at least three examples of every locomtive NP ever used, AND IT'S ALL IN BRASS.  He also has DRGW power.

With a collection like that, you'd think he has one humungus layout,,,,,,WRONG!!!!!!

It's all on shelves.

There are over 600 locomotives on display and an equal number in storage.

Magnus, you haven't gone over the top yet.  Take heart, you're still reasonably sane.

Thanks for the support. It would be redundant if the aim was to run them all. All of the time. The idea is to run a few of them and basically let the others be on display. I've been considering making a diorama with them. Basically a huge roundhouse with place for all of them and have that displayed and detailed to the max. But probably they will find themselves on the shelves. Where I at least think they make a nice and impressive collection.

Is it unnecessary, well yes in one way. But I'm not starving and neither are my kids. I didn't have to choose between survival and this.  Isn't our railroads in themselves not as unnecessary. But we build and play with them because we as individuals get something out of it. And this is what I get a kick out of.

They are PCM with DCC and Loksound. Except three of them which I hade from before.

The Swedish kronor is 6,50 to the dollar which is cheap. I did not win the lottey actually. I just saved up some cash before when I was working so I could afford this now that I'm a student. That's right in Sweden we have it so great that a university student can get this.  Big Smile [:D]
