Hey Brandon; 152 was running this weekend at KRM. We also have a new diner but I'm not sure if we plan on serving Spam on board. However I suspect some of the steam TRAIN (whoop there it is) crew may be guilty of cooking Spam in the cab during the weekend runs.

UP2CSX-You forgot to mention "trains" (rules is rules!)
Shouldn't we all be out drinking at a BBQ somewhere? Preferably on a train!

Aww, man! I wish I could have been there...
I went there on June 19 this past summer, but the 152 didn't pull our train. However, it was conducting an "unofficial test run" to Boston and back. I was a cab rider that day. Boy, Tish and Jim sure know how to keep you entertained! They even let me and my brother (who was also riding in the cab) stay on board after the passengers offloaded and go into the yard and help them switch a little.
I can tell you right now that when the 152 rolls by you at an arm's length away at a fast walkng pace, you never forget it.
As for the spam in the new diner, well, if the people ask for it I guess I could put the CF7 in notch 8 and cook it on the engine's surface, since I plan on coming down there next summer and voulenteering as a diesel engineer every weekend so I can "get my feet wet" in the railroad industry.
-Brandon, NOT a certified engineer, for now...

What is Hawaii?
I'll take Spam for a hundred, Alex...
Well, I guess if I turn the sliced Spam at right angles and slice it again, there will be enough sticks for 143 to have some.
If I turn it again in the other plain, 1144 can each have a cube.
You don't think I'm gonna open more than one can, do you?

Since this is a model railroad forum, shouldn't we rename "bandwidth" to "trainlength"? In that case shouldn't this thread be renamed "Another pointless waste of trainlength?

Yes, I got a pretty good laugh out of that one too. That is how I have felt opening some web sites that flood the user with multiple windows being opened.
But I need to explain why that first one was so funny to me.
I used to be the "Acting Manager" of the Automatic Test Equipment Lab where I worked. ("Acting Manager" means I had ALL the responsibility but not at the Manager pay scale.)
Anyway, I was DEEP into computers; I ate, breathed and slept computers. I would get so involved in programming problems at the systems level that I would loose track of the hour of the day and day of the week. I would need to ask someone a question and when I would open the door to the lab to go to the office area the whole place would be dark because everyone had gone home 10 hours ago.
My subconcious would work on software/hardware problems all the time. I would dream solutions to difficult problems and when I came in to work I could fix them... happened MANY times... Made the phrase "Sleep on it" very meaningful.
There was a period of time where I worked so many hours and was so tired that I was having trouble separating present reality from dreams I had two or three nights(/days) before. I'd dream that I had done something and then get confused when it had not been done already, or vice-versa.
One day we had a problem with a 5.25-inch floppy disk drive and I told a coworker I would fix it tomorrow when I could bring in some Braunschweiger and a butter knife.
Uh... say what!?!?!?
Apparently, a couple of nights before I had dreamed that a fix for a broken disk drive was to smear Braunschweiger into the opening with a butter knife (like putting peanut butter on bread).
It is now a bit of an inside joke with one of my kids. Whenever something isn't working right, (especially a computer problem) one of us will say, "I know how to fix it, smear Braunschweiger in the disk drive."
I know that a lot of my dreamed solutions actually worked, but this one was just a bit too far off into left field to even think about actually doing it. (But, I have often wondered what my mind was trying to do by associating the two in a fix... what is it about Braunschweiger that would be a fix for problems with a floppy disk drive?)
The photo in this thread was so much like the image in the dream that it really hit home. The only difference is that the Spam is coming out, not Braunschweiger going in.
Oh well...

Oh, boy... I just lifted that off a Google image search for SPAM, sorry! I can't take any credit for it. Go ahead and use it... ...if it's copyrighted then we'll both be in trouble!
