1. Finish cleaning/organizing the workroom (actually, I want to get this done before the holidays)

2. Resolve to regularly set aside time in the paintbooth, instead of constantly having huge backlogs of things that need airbrushing.

3. Fini***he last remaining white plaster areas that need scenery, and search and destroy any and all electrical gremlins.

4. Order any car & loco repair parts I need and clear that RIP track!

5. Finally start painting a backdrop.

All that should keep me more than busy for a year!

I tell ya, this 40 hours I waste at work every week is really cutting into my railroading time LOL!

I resolve to xxxxxxxcxxxxx scratch that...
I will do every day one small thing on my work table that will benefit. Such as leveling couplers, checking that balky freight car or even a little kit work.

I also resolve to keep a notebook with things done and thoughts of things needed to have or to be done. It is very time waster to sit and ponder what you did last week and forgot to do this time.

I will not buy anything unnecessary, and direct the funds to needed things such as coupler box covers, small tools, future purchases, screws, brushes etc

--Notice how unappetizing is to spend money on tools and supplies? Everyone would much rather get a Engine or a Car.

Finish stocking up on BlueBox Kits, and start working on those 6-10 Grain cars I have planned this year (Multiple Works on the same kits for me is kind of difficult so I spread it out over time)

Renumber all of those like numbered cars to a different number so I can at least track which one had a bad coupler, wheel etc

As of yesterday I have started to inventory and carefully store my cars. And keep a small notebook to take with me when shopping to avoid buying another of the same item or even a same unit number.

And lastly but not least use that 12 foot wall for something other than holding the house up.

Happy New Year all.

I resolve to...

...Stop debating my brother about which is better--HO or N scale. It's a lost cause.
...Stop whining about the small spare bedroom I now use for trains. It's not going to get any bigger. I need to accept it.
...Spend as much money as I want on my trains because, d*mnit, it's my money, pure and simple!
...Ignore all acquaintances who just can't fathom an adult's interest in 'toy trains.' I don't understand their interest in many things, yet do I complain?
...Allow my inner child to be happy with my chosen hobby--completely. After all, I think it's the best there is.

1, Develop track plan
2, Change it about 100 times...
3, Build benchwork
4, Lay track
5, Become operational

The above 5 to be completed by the end of the year!

Next year will be the year of scenery, structures and the like...

Happy New Year to ALL!

To finally sort out the joint between the two boards of my layout - just need to sort out the bolts holding them together, and get some copper-clad ties to use in the track joints. Then I can fini***he scenery!

1. build the bench work
2. purchase more locomotives and rolling stock, depending on the money i have
3. start the layout, when completed with #1
4. buy more buildings
5. read more books and learn more about model railroading
6. see #2
7. buy shelves and storage for the boxes for the rolling stock

thats all i can think of now. hopefully i can get the list of supplies i need for the bench work and have my dad go to the lumber yard and get that.

I resolve to stop buying more locos and rolling stock until I finish working on what I have.

I resolve to take all the locos and rolling stock I do have and get them all up to layout operating standards (weathering, metal wheels, smooth mechanics and lubrication, gauged couplers (this should take about 5 years, lol)) or sell those I won't ever use on EBay [8]

I also resolve to start painting all the locos that I have purchased specifically to repaint into other roads.

That ought to be more than enough resolutions [:)]

resolution:

fini***he street work on my layout (covering the tracks with street surface) and put up trolley poles and wiring.

buy no more locomotives--but build at least one electric freight motor, either kitbashed or scratchbuilt, from the parts I have on hand.

build at least one more section of layout so I can expand and make use of all this darn rolling stock I have purchased over the past year.

I resolve to stop buying so many locomotives and cars -- I'm running out of room to store them all. And my bank account can't support such extravagance, either....
