Esleeck Mfg. The building is done, and now I need to install a billboard of sorts/smokestack/something to fill the empty spaces on both sides.

No fun here this weekend , tiling my train room floor. It'll feel better on the old feet.

FINALLY, I think I have a layout I will like.  I have tried several the last few days, and I think this is the one.  I thought I would show everybody what I have so far.   I like the layout of the yard and a smaller yard near the end.  I added a almost dried out lake.  I still need to work on my lake, and get the wife to add the road bed.  She has better patience than I do when it comes to that.  Theres still many steps left on this one.  I will try to get more pictures when I get something done.

Aggro, I miss you. Your rust spots are as good an artistic rendition as anything I've seen.

Grandpa Cyote, Nice detail.

Wow! Great work everyone!

This has to be the best Weekend Photo Fun all summer!!

Here's the completion of my latest project - rebuilding my control panel to add staging yard occupancy indicators and turnout routing:

The green and red LEDs in the track diagram are occupancy indicators (red means occupied), and the blue ones indicate to which track the turnouts are aligned from the lead-in track.

The areas where there are holes or blanks in the panel are where yet-to-be installed occupancy indicators will go.

Here's a close-up of the Milwaukee West yard ladder diagram:

This particular project has taken several weeks to finish. The additional occupancy detectors and indicators will be installed over the next six to nine months.

Just as a comparison, here's the original panel, completed in 2005:

It's still morning out in the Pacific time zone, so Good Morning, Everyone! Smile [:)]

There have been some wonderful photos added since last evening.  JaRRell, holy smoke!  You keep scaring the pants off me every time you sneak in a new image!  Don't you ever go on vacation? Mischief [:-,]

Jeffrey, I sure like that derelict old steamer.  Great job on setting that up.  I'm thinkin', though, it needs some railfan photogs setting up tripods and all that, as a thought. Smile [:)]  Can't let that old hulk ever get too lonely, you know.

Tom and Terry, I really like your teasers.  Have you been holding out on us?  Your images are very realistic.  Nice work and planning.

Great Stuff guys !

Much better photos Chuck !

I've been installing more rock molds. when i built the layout i put in a shelve 6 inches below the

table top which i think adds another dimension to the looks .

Here's a before shot

This is after the rocks were installed

Here's a close up

Wow!  WPF started and there are 2 pages as of now.  Looks to be a great one.

Selector - love the perspective. After all the long hours we spend on our creations it's really nice when someone spends the time learning to set up the shot.  As others have said, it looks real.

Jon - I always like the detail you have in your photos and weathering of your locos. You take excellent close ups.

Chuck G - That is a nice job on the grassland.

SouthWest - I like that 3rd picture. They're all good but I gravitated to the last one.

Not too much in my area this last week. Been stealing a moment here and there in the mornings before work adding detail to this scene. Dry brushed the rock outcropping. The rock work was done with ceiling tile. Hope to work on some trees for the foreground today.

Longer shot (but not like Selector's) of that corner as a train will be coming around into the Taylor West yard.

Regards,

Tom

I like that western U.S. desert...If I wasn't 75% into my New York Central layout this is the kind of locale I would want to model.  I guess that will have to be next time; I always did like Sante Fe and Southern PacificSmile [:)]

Lot's of neat stuff, everybody!

Jon Grant's Bl-2 is great.  Looks very much like Monon BL2 at Kentucky Railway museum. That unit is alive and well, and sometimes pulls excursion trains there.

You can see a photo of the BL-2 at kyrail.org.

I really like the way you've captured the train from engine to caboose in this shot plus the way you cropped it.

I've just got some structure pics this week.

This is my first attempt at scratch building something. Just some left over junk I had laying around.

These next few are some buildings from my dads layout that I've been cleaning up and re-painting. (Dad was kind of sloppy about building kits) I had to completely redo most of them.

Being able to take pictures now, I notice a lot more mistakes in the photos than I do when I'm actually working on the stuff.
