Well looks like there may be steam on the Yreka Western after all this weekend. Which makes me happy and worried at the same time. I would tell you why, but that's some confidential stuff, sorry. I will get some pics for you guys!

Go me! If I was born on the 21st of this month, I'd be going to highschool.

That's just not the way it is, though. I was born on the 22nd.

I was quite the opposite. I ended up being the yongest person from K-12th grade. (I graduated when I was 17) I'm a sophmore in college now, and am only 18.

Also, girls like older guys. Might explain some of my bad luck. (in 12th grade I was younger than most of the 11th graders)

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

I have all my credits in for college. I just have to take the required courses (english, math, etc.) this year. And I am taking one elective. So I should be sailing by this senior year!

On Sunday I had railfanning and model railroading collide pleasantly. A few of you might remember I kitbashed WSOR 702 not too long ago, and I haven't had the pleasure of seeing it personally. Sunday, there were about 20 engines down by the roundhouse, and 702 was one of them! Of course, it had to be stuffed in the middle of them all so I couldn't get any good pictures. :(

Well I finally picked up the parts I ordered last week today. I also order some more of the Cannon & Co Parts. Now it's time to chop the rest of the GP38 off, and to chop and combine the GP38-2 and SD45 frames. After that once the Cannon & Co Parts Arrive I'll attach them to the Stryene Base I need to make. Then I should have a pretty good start.

Quebec & New England? Did Yoshi change the name again?Whistling [:-^]

You're right Alex, that wouldn't really work on my curves... 22" radius would be a little tight!

I finally succeded in strapping my camera to a gondola (My flatcar tipped to much when I tried it) to make a train ride video. It's not a front view; as neither my video camera nor the regular camera that I used for this would clear the edges of the ROW, it's as if there's an HO scale hobo with a video camera... "Side Door Pullman" On the WRS

I took this over the Dooley-West Concord stretch and in Concord itself. The pass wouldn't work because all you'd see was the side of an unfinished hill, plus the camera clipped the trees... Conrail C40-8W #6089 did the honors of pushing the gondola.

Enjoy!

Went out and photographed my GP30 earlier. I'll have photos of my GP35 when my dad's friend brings it over (he bid on it for me since I don't have an ebay account).

and here's my progress on the layouts:

Added paper towels for moubntains (not soaked in hydrocal, but in plain water, we'll see how it all works out).

I've moved the loco servicing to a single long track (it only services 2 locos).

(sorry it's blurry)

Sawyer, you sure it wasn't JAWS? lol.

School starts on August 18th here. Way to early. But this is my last year of high school! WOOHOO!

In the meantime, I am finally beginning purchasing lumber for my new benchwork on my new layout. Look on page 49 of August MR to see the trackplan.

Pretty Odd Eh?

I'm thinking of just cutting it down to an A-A loco, and scrapping the B unit. I'd be using 2 of the new Bachmann's, so the MSRP would be $250. Tongue [:P]

If I were to do that, I'd have one unit with a 2 trucks, and the second unit with 1, and that would slide onto a pinon the first unit. That way it would be able to swivel. The locomotive is going to be going through Testing on the Quebec & New England, out of Bellows Falls. While the axle loading isn't too heavy for White River Southern, its expected their curvy mountain route is unsuited for the monsters... Tyler, Imagine one of these on the New Poland Turn!
