I am assembling a Walthers HO 3-Stall Roundhouse (Kit No. 933-3041). I glued down the bases carefully, using both the provided template, ensuring each section interlocks with the notches.
How is it that when I set up the side brick walls and interior braces the roof is 1/4" over size at the rear, blowing out the side wall and the rear walls leave huge gaps? I used a right angle blocks when gluing to maintain 90 degrees. The walls and braces are all self jigging in the notches or holes, so I just don't understand what could be wrong here.
This is the first Walther's Cornerstone plastic structure I have ever built in HO scale. My last were in N scale 12 years ago and I don't recall the parts being this far out of tolerance.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? Or do I just need to "tweak" these kits and deploy scratch building techniques to get these kits to work well?
Thanks.
I've had this too. Without problems.
Maybe you've got a bad kit?

Come to us http://www.westportterminal.de my videos my blog
I have 12 stalls worth of the Cornerstone roundhouse - I didn't have any problems with the assembly/fit of the pieces.
Someone else mentioned a problem with the roundhouse in this thread. Does this sound familiar?
I had same problem. Nobody returned my email!! Not happy.
Smillar67,
To The Forums.
Just to let You know, you replying to a seven year old thread, but that's OK. As far as your problem with your kit goes, You would be better off contacting customer service by phone and tell them your problem...not E-mail. Phone call is free.

First post, 7 year old thread. Oh brother.
Why not just start a new thread?
Where did you post your question? You say, Not Happy. How do we answer what you did not ask?
Rich
P.S. I have built three of these, no problems.

Rich,
It sounds like He sent Walthers an E-mail about His problem with the kit. It is always better to call.

Thanks!
Agreed. In my experience calling is better. And don't bother leaving a voice mail message. They are not responded to any better than email. I found I just had to keep calling until someone answered. At that point I got the help I needed.
Hi Guys thanks for the help! I am very new and very overwhelmed with this whole layout thing! I may have bit of more than i cab handle! Any help guidance or suport is much welcomed.
