Huh???????? I can assure everyone I have not been Deleted nor Delated....... Just haven't had the time to do more than read a few posts for the last few days. Been trying to get some tax stuff started and still up to my eyeballs in alligators with the MLK committee stuff, not to mention....
OK, I will mention. Had my appointment with the eye surgeon yesterday, had a series of tests and photographs taken to send to my insurance company to hope they give complete coverage for me to have my eyelids surgically corrected so I will be able to see better again....... The surgeon doesn't think there should be a problem but they have to go through everything to show that this will be a medically nessesary procedure and not cosmetic surgery. One of the tests is a "Perimeter" test to evaluate if the eyelids are restricting my periferal sight (They are). So now I wait to hear if my insurance will cover the basic surgery. I will also have a ultrasound proceedure on my eyebrows that will also improve the ability to see well but are considered a "Cosmetic" procedure by insurance. That will cost me $750, but I figure is worth getting done along with the actual eyelid surgery....
I also get to have the "rotorouter" procedure on February 13th. (colonoscopy). Lots of medical stuff going on in my life at the moment........
I am supposed to be heading out soon for a Class of 64 reunion committee meeting in Canandaigua this afternoon, but with the snow and wind, I just begged off attending. I have nothing to report anyway. I am in charge of the entertainment for our 55th. reunion coming up in 2019. Basically all I am doing is providing the sound system and DJing for the party....

I'm not a Diner guy, but it has been jarring to see the honoree's name spelled and punctuated incorrectly all month. I hope that whoever sets up the next month does it correctly. Jeff was an online friend and deserves that much.

I put Jeffreys not Jeffries because that like story's vs stories one is possessive the other plural are there multiple Jeffries? Correct me if I'm wrong but that's how I learnt it (<purposely misspelt learned)

Now you know why I cringe with certain posts that completely destroy the English Language.... LOL. But the main thing here is that we do understand each other, so I tend to forgive those who butcher the language. I was told once in College at Eastman by one of my education teachers that she was going to make sure I didn't graduate until I could correctly spell Rhythm! I did, BTW.

It works fine the first time you post it. But if you edit the post, it passes the unicode (all that ampersand gibberish) back to the editor, which works fine for displaying in a web browser, but the editor, literal-minded thing that it is, re-uploads it as if those were characters, not code. So when editing a post with a special character in the subjectline, you have to be sure to edit the subjectline to make it appear how you originally typed it. Then it will work.

Not an active yard, but when I was in Duluth last summer, the Lake Superior Railroad Museum was nice enough to let me climb on one of their exhibits to do some measuring on it. An NP SD45 that they have.

I've got a few.
The NP SW1200. (The loco for the new yard. See below.) Painted over the lettering I wasn't able to remove and I wasn't able to find an NP stock model. (LL P2K) Also got the replacement handrails installed. (The original ones were the stock plastic and were warped beyond use.) Brass wire, DA eyebolts, a couple of toothpicks and some CA. Need to hit them in a couple spots where I missed with the first coat. The spark arrestors are on order. Need to get the beacon next. (The prototype is a little different so I think I have the right one lined up.) I need to hit a few of handrails with my NP Yellow to get them correct as well. I will wait a bit until it warms up to do the decals.
Another one is the NP caboose. I need to get the new windows cut. (It is a KB from a pair of Athearn cupola caboose.) The paint will need to be ordered when it warms up. (Latex paint and cold don't mix.)
The major project is yet another expansion. I almost have enough pieces to get the yard built. I ended up having to plan a corner for room purposes. (So I wasn't jutting out into the walkway.) The corner is a modified NMRA corner module. one side is 24" to match the car shop side and the other is 28" to join to the doors. The framework is planned to be purchased the 12th and delivered to the ranch on the 13th. Also have some curves, terminal joiners, and a couple of turnouts on order for the yard. I also will need to order a couple more sheets of cork as well. (Wasn't planning on the corner when I ordered the cork the first time.) I figure that it will take a few weeks to get everything built. (And yes, I will take lot of pictures.)
