You're one of the guys that makes this forum "Top Notch"! [4:-)][tup]

The old saying about "The grass looks greener on the other side" applies here also. I've visited other forums and IMHO this one, coupled with the ability to visit and post on the TRAINS forum is the all around best and very hard to beat!

And guys forgive me for being redundant here, but we had NOTHING like this forum when me and my two modeling buddies were teens. We had to do it the hard way!

Thanks, Amigo!

Antonio, you've already made my day with your kind words. The Trains.com family of forums is my "home" on the internet, mainly because I subscribe to 3 of the 5 publications represented. I do subscribe to one other train related magazine, but am just not as fond of that forum.

Actually, I discovered this site a couple of years ago, but never found the forums. Then for whatever reason, it just slipped my mind. After my divorce, I was looking for something to help take my mind off my problems, and rediscovered this, but couldn't find my old account, so on December 4th of last year I started from scratch.

I agree, I wi***here had been something like this when I was a teenager. The kids today have it pretty good.

As I was typing this, I just thought of something. This forum is really a VIRTUAL TRAIN CLUB. It just doesn't have a layout or dues, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.[swg]

I'm a 'newbie' to the forum--about a month--so I spend a minimum of an hour on it, usually in the morning. Sometimes I go off, then back on--just to see what the topics are and if they've changed and how many of you have gone back into a particular topic. Frankly, I LIKE most of the topics you people come up with--a few of them have helped me immensely with a couple of projects I'm currently working on. So keep it up, fellas, I'm starting to get to know a lot of you and I like what I'm reading.

I probably average 1 hour/day, but there are times that I have stayed on long enough for my bottom to go to sleep. I do not belong to a club and don't have contact with anyone that is train savy so the MR forum is my club. It not only has a wealth of information, but it is filled with good humor and comradery. "Hats off to all!" for the way you are willing to share your knowledge with others.

I spend about 45 minutes here a day. Over the summer I was probably here about 1.5 hours a day. But now since college has started, I don't have as much time to spend on the net. I do get Fridays off, however![8D]

While the short answer may be "too much", there is so much information, and so many ideas, that it is a nice way to wind down from a long day at work, and a long ride home.

These forums are also very thought provoking, and good for an occasional chuckle.

I spend any where from 15 minutes to a couple hours a day here. Average is between a half an hour and an hour.

I get on the MRR forum usually three times a day, moring, noontime after lunch, and evenings after supper, sometimes later in the evening also. I spend more time on the forum in winter months though.

On a typical day, I spend about two hours on the forum - but that depends on the weather, if I have to work, if I'm working around the house or if I'm out in the train room doing train things. I've been known to spend seven or eight hours a day on it during the winter when there's absolutely nothing else to do, or it's too cold to do anything outside.

As long as necessary.

Recently, I was absent for about two months. Between MR, TRAINS, and trains.com forums, I had to review 170 pages of new topics. Needless to say, it took a while.[;)]

Some days I'm on here quite a bit, but if the more recent topics are inane and childish, I don't spend much time here that day. After a few days the topics mix will change, and there will be some worth reading, so I'll stay a little longer.
