out of curiousity, I wonder what UP is doing with all of the fee money they are collecting. My suspicions:

1. Executive Christmas bonuses
2. Country Club memberships for the big cheeses
3. Cruise vacations for upper-level management

Anyway, bet they are smiling all the way to the bank.

if you should believe the rumours about the profit they are gonna make
its gonna be
1. one lighted christmastree to put on the dashboard of their exec. limo
2. unlimited free drinks ( from the taps in the bathroom )
3. trip to alcatraz ?

Perhaps it is how each or the 'Heavy Breathers' are paying for their new Lionel Verandas to put on their desk on their custom made business card holders that have those those fake ink pens that never work but look so serious (or did they just dry up waiting for Lionel and Athearn to sign their respective licensing agreements)?

philnrunt...Denver Broncos are a good team...why wouldnti like them...back toback superbowls one of only 5 teams to win that...and 1 of only 5 teams to win 18 games in a row. and hold alot of offensive records for there 98' season...there a good team, and 10-6 last year wasnt bad.....alot of teams would like to have half of what Denver has..and lets try to keep things in here about Trains not Football alright.

up9899- Oh the Denver COLORADO Broncos...ok, I thought you meant the Denver Ohio Broncos, my mistake! They are 2-785 and their specialty teams need work.
And when did this forum have anything to do with trains? Just look at the topics- FP45s, Union Pacific, trackwork....hmmmm, ok, maybe it DOES have something to do with trains, I need to disable that rotten javascript so I dont have to run all of this thru my Capt. Mystery decoder.
Just looked back in time towards the beginning of this forum and this has been an active topic since at least Nov '02. It's a wonder the modellers hav'nt marched on Omaha with torches screaming "Bring out the monster!"
I remember reading about a meeting with customers that UP had a few years back, when the meltdown was getting under control, and the article gave the impression that UP was paying lip service to them at best. If they take that attitude towards customers, I don't think model railroaders stand much of a chance.

I admire UP for its history. But I guess I'll stick with my local RR, CSX, for now until this blows over!

http://www.pioneerlocal.com/cgi-bin/ppo-story/localnews/current/ba/06-03-04-307130.html , so, what's all your paranoia about the fact your using a product un- regulated by and unauthorized by the very entity that carved a life out of this great land. Here, in a moment of hesitation, a corporate, is to pay out the *** for just what a part of the environment has incurred opon the rights of way, and so needed it is, to compensate for punitive damages, which will never be repaid. Sony finances a video, played on MTV, "Big Locomotive," 1989, which depicts a UP DD40X in a high speed collision on a basement model railroad. Get It? A BASEMENT MODEL RAILROAD! Shows the world how.... Then Areosmith, bless their hearts, produced "Living on the Edge." ....and so. What would you do? The law can't touch this, the only legal rercouse is to do formally what is being done. And, at the expense of higher pricing (also called the cost of doing business), remember, these companies, howerver cherished, however loved, are actually, flagrantly breaking the very copyright laws they would use to sue your very *** off with. So use the bandwidth for something constructive. Save a life, or something. Many threads are under-way to suggest Uncle Pete should just kick the bucket! Enjoy Getting Over It!acj.

Trainfan1221,
Maybe you can help me. I was wondering why I've seen more UP, BN, NS power
on the CSX main through Pensacola. I seldom see CSX locomotives any more.
I passed a train yesterday and not one CSX loco. ????? Dave

http://cencalrails.railfan.net/frnpwer.html Dave 9999, here's a link to show where the motive power is traded in power by the hour swap.

cwclark, You should have left the SP stuff alone and modeled it before the merger! Best era to model is when all railroads showed their pride and color. If you model the west you have a huge selection of roads. I suggest to repaint you equiptment to SP,SF,WP,CNW,NP,GN,CB&Q,SP&S,D&RGW,RI,SSW,MP- SP FAN!
