Its early Monday am..so I hope this counts...

Took time from installing trees on the 'long hill' at Hawks Nest to limber up the C&O K-8 #2360

It started life as a BLI light Mike, with some new details and a tender swap.

Hi Blue Flamer: Thanks for the kind words.  We were in the Sharbot Lake area of Ontario. Our friends from St. Catherines have a trailer on a lake that begins with a K. They do have a telephone, but it's a land line. There is no cell phone reception there. I suppose they could get dial up there, but it's nice to get away from all the contraptions. Besides, we were too busy fishing to use the net, pun intended! BTW, a belated happy Canada Day, we celebrated with our Canadian friends.

Hey G. T.

Thanks for the wishes for Canada Day. I posted mine to all our friends south of the border on one of the other threads.

Glad that you had a good time and hope that you caught a couple of good meals. My problem is that when I go fishing, all I catch is overhead branches and submerged logs and in one instance as a kid, an old wooden railroad trestle that we were fishing from. (Really. I had to keep it RR related. Didn't I???) It was safe to be on it as it was on an old abandoned line.

Anyway, you are right. You didn't need any distractions when you have more enjoyable things to while away your time.Zzz [zzz]

Grampys--

I kinda sorta thought that was an ME bridge--but I like the way you combined the kits really well.  Those ME towers are something else, aren't they?  Funny thing, after you get the first tower built, the rest of them go together relatively quick.  That's a lovely job!  Tongue [:P]

Charles--

That's a beautiful shot.  Like Garry, I think the colors are remarkable in the photo.  And that's a really NICE kit-bash on the loco.  Isn't kit-bashing fun, though?  Especially when the result is as handsome as yours.  Bow [bow]

Yeah! REAL nice! I normally hate fall colors on a layout, but those look really good.

Thanks for the comments - much appreciated.  The trick I've found with fall colors is to avoid strong colors remembering that except for a short period each fall green colors still dominate the scene.  BTW, each 'tree-let' in the scene starts as bits of super trees - there's gotta be 100-150 of these covering the hillside so far.

The Mike kit-bash was great fun - the most diffcult parts were the tender conversion and building the air pump + shield on the pilot deck.

A couple of recent additions to the railroad here.

I was at the local car show at the White Castle this weekend, and this was the first time I caught them on camera.
