Start with one or 2 sections of track and test with that. If all is ok then build one or 2 sections at a time and test along the way.  If something is connected wrong you'll know where it is quickly.

OK, I give up

Is there anyone near Chesapeake, Virginia that would be available to give me some help in wiring my layout?  I've cut gaps in turnouts and installed feeders but nothing works, the locomotives just sit there and the overload light comes on on the power pack.  If it means anything alot of my rolling stock has metal wheelsets.   I'm not a concept person so reading books apparently is not helping.
