I model a short common carrier in 1916. Since I live in Fort Worth, I thought it would be nice to include a Fort Worth & Denver City (or Fort Worth & Denver--not sure when the name was shortened). I have the dimensions from the 1916 Official Railway Equipment Register. I also have a round FW&D herald ("Fastest Route to the Northwest"). I have not found any photos of boxcars or other rolling stock from that era. Any clues, anyone? Thanks!
I have no clue for you but my first instinct would be to see if the Burlington Route Historical Society's magazine has done anything on the freight cars of the FW&D/FW&DC. My second hunch would be that at the very least the person or persons with those pictures or information are likely member of the Society and would be good folks to get to know! Having been to some of that Society's meets over the years, it's a nice bunch of folks.

Archive hunting is required for that early era. Dont forget to look i. State And town and county and township archives. You would be surprised what is hiding in Those under odd names. Especially township ones.
i found a trainstation that used to be down the street from me. Gone by the 40's. Low and behold. Found it after years of digging i. The township archives. Not in the Reading rr. Or state or google. Or anything like.

The FW&D was subsidiary of the UP and then later became a subsidiary of the CB&Q. South of Ft Worth it was a joint operation with the Rock Island (the Joint Texas Division) that ran to Houston, and the terminal was operated by the Houston Belt and Terminal (of which it was part owner).
In 1916 a boxcar might be similar to an Accurail 36 ft double sheathed car.

Technically the 2nd set would be nonconforming after 1910, when the stenciling requirements changed.
