Blue Foam

Where do you get the blue foam for at least 3/4' thick for the layout.  I check Lowes and they only have 1/4' thick.

Home Depot in my area has the pink stuff (extruded foam insulation) which is the Owen-Corning version.  The blue stuff, I think, is by Dow, but they are the same stuff.

If you live in the Southwest, it's hard to find this stuff.  It just doesn't go with your climate.

I live in New York... should be able to find some then.  I will try Home Depot tomorrow then.  Can I use white glue to glue the foam to the bench?

Use Liquid Nails - Project (for Foam)  to secure it.  Note that there are about 15 variations of Liquid Nails.  The one called Project is the one.

With the best will in the world, Home Depot and Lowes ideal customer is a home owner.  While they sell to contractors, you will find that most decent contractors use lumber yards and supply houses that specialize in dealing with contractors.  Find where the contractors go in your area and you will more likely find the thicker grades of foam insulation.

I will try that out too then.  I'm like MisterBeasley....I live just south of Memphis and 3/4" pink is the thickest I can find at any of our HD's or Lowes.

It sure would be nice to get it a little thicker.

I live in NW New Jersey and both Lowes and HD carry 2 inch foam from time to time. You have to get lucky to get it when it first comes in to get it without any damage, if that's important to you. Try asking them when they might be getting a delivery. Also there is a building and siding supplier in NW NJ, Allied Building Supply I believe. You don't say where in NY you're located (big state), but  there should be somebody in the trades business in your area who can help you out.
