I will try that out too then. I'm like MisterBeasley....I live just south of Memphis and 3/4" pink is the thickest I can find at any of our HD's or Lowes.
It sure would be nice to get it a little thicker.

Use Liquid Nails - Project (for Foam) to secure it. Note that there are about 15 variations of Liquid Nails. The one called Project is the one.

I live in New York... should be able to find some then. I will try Home Depot tomorrow then. Can I use white glue to glue the foam to the bench?

Home Depot in my area has the pink stuff (extruded foam insulation) which is the Owen-Corning version. The blue stuff, I think, is by Dow, but they are the same stuff.
If you live in the Southwest, it's hard to find this stuff. It just doesn't go with your climate.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
Where do you get the blue foam for at least 3/4' thick for the layout. I check Lowes and they only have 1/4' thick.
