A great way to establi***he period or era your modeling in is with billboards. Besides being a great scenery filler, Billboards help establi***he mood or theme of your railroad. Billboards come in every shape and size, even in the real world. So you can use just about anything from kits to scratch when building them.

Here are some of the billboards seen around my railroad:

Mate,

I never cease to be amazed how clever some people are compared to me. I love the bits of newspaper lying around under the guys painting the billboard. And an old tyre!! The bushes and tufts of grass look so great too.

You have turned me into an addict. As soon as I see your name I have to have a look at the photos.

I agree with with your title that billboards do make great scenery additions.

Moxie, huh? Must be in the Northeast!

Great work Bob!

Oh, and John is right. There are some people that, when you see that they started the thread, you just check it out, no matter what it's about. There are a handful of those people on this forum, and you're one of them.

Where did you get your billboard frames, or did you make those yourself?

The RR Express agency is a Bar Mills model for sure as I have one. I suspect that some of them are scratch built as well.

Simon. Your are correct. Both the Railway Express Agency and Moxie Billborards were built from Bar Mills Kits. The rest were scratched using paper signs.

Have Fun.... Bob.
