The first Christmas of the new year is here !
All kinds of odds and ends came in today, like a box of decoders:
A few freight cars:
The rest of the turnouts to complete the layout:
I'm still waiting for track which is still on some boat swimming to the US...

The Breitenbach - Rosenheim Railroad V3
I added the second layer of roadbed to most of the branch line and the main line. All that's missing now is the second layer for the Breitenbach station and the ramp to the viaduct.
hon30critter Michael: Just out of curiousity, can you show us a picture of your laser machine and tell us how it works? Thanks, Dave

Sure, no problem. I'm using this laser: http://www.fslaser.com/Product/Hobby
Here's a picture of the laser at work cutting roadbed:
All you have to do is make a drawing of the part you want to create. You can use any vector drawing program like CorelDraw, DraftSight and so on. The laser installs as a printer so all you need to do is 'print' your drawing to the laser. Very simple.
I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
I had the laser running today to make parts for the second layer of roadbed. I installed a few feet this evening which included drilling holes for eight switch machines.
Thanks Dave, that's the idea ! Just imagine the river running parallel to the main line...
That's going to be an impressive scene Michael! Heck, it already is impressive!
No more progress, just a photo shoot! I wanted to see how the scene works with a train on the mainline. I have to admit I'm pretty happy about it!
I've cut the roadbed and placed the bridge. There's already a commuter train on it's way to the Breitenbach station!
I found a leftover piece of plywood that I can use as a base for the river. All I had to do is cut it to length.
Trying to find the perfect position for the bridge:
The branch line out of Rosenheim has gotten some roadbed as well:
I've glued down the first layer of roadbed at the Breitenbach station:
The last update for today ! The mainline has it's first layer of roadbed:
The last piece of the Breitenbach station went up as well. Now I've run out of plywood to raise... btw, this is about the halfway mark!
ROBERT PETRICK michaelrose55 More plywood - I hope I'm not boring you... Not at all! I hope you don't think you're boring us.

Not at all! I hope you don't think you're boring us.
No, I just thought I'd ask!

More main line and branch line progress:
I have started to raise a piece of the main line this morning:
I've raised the first 8' of the visible part of the branch line:
I've started to build the hidden ramp that will lead to staging:
Breitenbach is being lifted up!
The rest of the subroadbed has been cut out. Now I need to make a lot of risers...
I've done more subroadbed cutting today:
OnewolfYour saw doesn't seem to cut straight lines. :)
No, it's a pretty old saw !

I have started to cut out the subroadbed:
I did a little work on the other end of the branch line today:
The mainline roadbed has reached the next small town (I have no name yet) and the branch line has almost reached the east staging yard:
