Daff,

For a FREE catalog and news letter, even if you never buy from them, they lists tons of tools and supplies for scratch building/bashing, use as a reference, if you want:

daff,

All you really need in addition to the regular tools you already use for model building is - as you stated - your imagination.  I even find with putting a structure kit together there is always detailing (e.g. flooring, walls, trim, lights, window treatments, etc.) that really add to the realism of the model.

Come to think of it - a couple items that you may want to stock up on are #11 & #17 (chisel) X-acto blades for cutting and paring styrene and a stout blade handle for good control.  #11s, especially - as they can become dull fairly quickly if you are scoring a lot of styrene and plastic.

I really would like to get into the "kit bashing" end of structures but not sure what tools I will need.  I would assume that what you can do with kit bashing is only limited to ones imagination.  I presently have a Walthers red brick freight building that I would like to cut in half because of space concerns (shelf, switching layout) and am not sure where to start.

Any advise would help
