Bending Profile Board
Posted by Steam4Ever2 on Saturday, June 5, 2010 9:18 PM

My question is how tight can I bend profile board and what material would you use.  I am hoping to get a 90 degree bend with less than a 12 inch radius.  Any ideas?   I realize this might be a bad idea, so you will not hurt my feelings.

If it looks like a train, and usually stays on the tracks, by golly, its probably a train. Remember that model railroading is fun!

You mean like this? This is 1/8 inch hardboard and it bends quite well.

From a distance. Please excuse the lousy clouds, they need work.

That's what I'm talking about!  Any idea what radius it is?  Any special technique?  Thanks for the photos

I just measured it and it's about a 9" radius. You could go a little tighter if you bend slowly.  I did mine by myself. It would be much easier with two people.Smile

Thanks Guys.  That answers my question totally.  I guess if I had researched a bit further the answers were available in "search".  Thanks for your willingness to answer the question more than once.
