Good evening, folks (or afternoon, or morning, or whatever it is where you are...)

Well, this thread looks an ideal opportunity for my first post on this board...

Yes I do have a garden railway, it's called the Scampington and Chipside, and you can find some pics of it here:

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/cetucker/gardenrail

I've been working on it for coming up to 3 years now - still not finished of course! Are these things ever finished I wonder?

Regards

[#welcome] to the forum! I checked out your web site, very nice! Mine is nowhere near the quality of yours, maybe someday I might have the time to finish of the rough edges, but until then.........................

I'm pretty sure I'm losing mine. My wife and I are going through one of those "difficult periods". I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst. [B)]

I'll probably have to sell off a bunch of my stuff to cover moving expenses. [:(]

Nope. My railroad is a lawn rr. My track is laid in the grass & I have very little desire to put in a lot of plants to take care of.

Mine is a point to point railway outdoors, it will be a railway in the garden as soon as the track hits the dirt (come Spring).

Hi All glad to join here. Hope to chat with you more. A few years back I lost my Right a Way do to the Big D and Had to donate most of my stuff to a club. I had 300 ft of premade track, 7 turn outs. I built a 17 ft long trestel in the front yard , a 24" wide 30" tall 60" long sawmill a small town about 10 structures on the layout that was lite up at night, 2 switch backs, a 8 ft tunnel a 30ft long stream that ended in a 6X6 pond were the main features of the railway. I am planing a new GR here at my new home,it will be a folded dogbone 60ft long 15X 25 and a 15X12 ends. I plan on elevateing the rail line with a dry stack stone wall encompassing the entire line. I am going to hand lay the track. I plan on two water features ,2 towns. My theam is going to be a Narrow Gauge Eastern logging / mineing. based around the West Virgian narrow gauge Prototype lines.

Yes I do, albeit a small one...... And unfortunately due to health reasons I had to abandon it this year but hopefully can revive it again next spring, that is if I can find the track buried beneath the Elfin Thyme....

I have an outdoor railway. Maybe it could be considered a garden railway. Right now about half of the track is invisible because it is under several inches of leaves.

Future plans are to build a trestle and add more plants this next year.

[#welcome] to the new members.

Yes

About 250 ft but still not completed, have been a bit sick for a while but I'm back into it again.

It is based on a narrow gauge Rio-Grande operation in Fn3 scale.
I have named the railway "Watson Valley. Railway" (totally fictitious) named after the suburb in Canberra where I live.

All the best
Gary
