Who really gives a toss.
People like what they like!
Every make has it's merits.
(mind you,I've never dealt with Newbright.)

Hey Jack, [:)]

This being the Einstein centenary I'd say "It's all relative"[:)]

Wags would go one step farther and suspect/suggest that the proof of Einstein's theory has something to do with many of LGBs items being either too short or too long, too narrow or too wide etc. etc. i.e. there must be a body with great gravity close to Nürnberg which distorts the measurements.[;)][:o)][}:)][:D][:D]

Best?
Like the term "Big Boy".
Which is the biggest?
Weight?
Length?

I use LGB and like it, but the detail level and scale adherence is not up to my personal "wants".
Plus, I won't buy anything with the manufacturer's proprietary sound for MORE money than a GOOD aftermarket unit, nor factory-equipped decoders of some sort.
I don't like to "pay" for the priveledge of cutting stuff out.
And that is not just one manufacturer.
I will say this, my LGB engines go through motors faster than anything else I own (which is a bit).
Not one of the other brands has ever had a motor changed because it went bad, but my Moguls are both on motor #3, my brothers 2085 has had them both changed, my 2015 has had at least one motor....
I have all the old ones in a drawer, so I know how many.
But, they are very good on service and parts.

So, how do you define "best"?

What scale is this?
"Suitable for large scale".
What frequency is your remote?
"Proprietary".

Okay.

While a K is waaaaaaay too big for my tiny layout, I welcome B'manns broadening of thier horizons. It will be interesting to see a side by side comparison of B'mann's 1/20 K with LGB's 1/22 K.

Hi Dave,[;)][;)]

What a way to put it![:D][:D][:D]

I'm sure Ian will enjoy his Blue Krok, more so if he goes for a RhB trip and gets to ogle the prototype.

On the prototype; I have it straight from the source at RhB that they didn't add a sound board with "funny" clips. The Krok still sounds the same, clanging side rods, whining motor and grinding gearbox!

BTW, strictly my opinion, Kroks and other RhB rod engines (like the 200 and 300 series) are the cat's meow; you get the nice motion of the rods without having to put up with the smelly smoke from schhhhhhhteamers or schmiesels. Not to mention the tractive effort!

This posted on MLS from a visitor to the RustBucket:

"Bachmann had their Shay running and........a sign and picture posted announcing a K-27 for 2006. Apparantly Lee Riley was outvoted."
