Biggie Smalls was a member on the Model RR forum who one day decided to attack several members online with some rather unplesent postings, bergie banned him from the site.

Please both of you bear that in mind when discussing your differences and try to keep it civil. The moderators here do have the right to ban anyone they feel is disruptive to the forum. thats all I'm saying, I have better things to do.

While you make some great trams, and I love the Thomas pictures, you have no contribution here in the

Grow up, quite being a negative nelly, and quite trains.com or stay in your little part of the world. I ended the other topic because of you. And yet I get under you thin skin. I like to socialize, I like people. Many on here have asked you to chill out, yet you persist. I am tired of being polite to a small minded, person with people problems. Find a Shrink over there. This is not your thread. You are not welcome here, and leave your messages to me to yourself.

One of the characteristics that we all need to have in this world, to work, enjoy hobbies, or just share experiences with each other, is respect for one another. A mark of a person's maturity, is their ability to respect others. That means speech and the written word. I have read many of the treads on this forum, and it is very apparent to me that there is a considerable amount of immaturity.

First: If I see a subject of which I have no interest, I move on to another. I am not compelled to make a rash, immature statement because I don't agree, or wi***o incite a riot....that is the act of an immature person.

Second: A forum subject such as a "Coffee Shop" is nothing more than what it would be in real world at work, a place to sit for a while, discuss whatever interest you and those who share the same desire. It gives you a chance to "know" the other person a bit. In getting to know someone, you are better prepared to share common interests, what the bother person is interested in besides trains.

If you disagree with me, that is your right, and I respect that right. But if you want me to respect you as a person......then that is an "earned" respect. Life is far too short to treat others badly, we only go this way once, and there are no second chances.

Have a great day everyone.....
Dick If you do what you always did, you'll get what you always got!! Learn from the mistakes of others, trust me........you can't live long enough to make all the mistakes yourself, I tried !! Thank you Rene for laying down the rules, I'll get this in while I can...[;)]

Busy weekend, first weekend it hasnt rained in a long time. FINALLY tackled a big project in my garage, I relocated a large work bench from one front corner to the opposite rear corner next to my layout. Re-arrianged a bunch of other stuff at the same time.[8D]

I have wanted to do this since Christmas but with all the $#% rain I couldnt as I had to remove everything else in there and put in onto the driveway, not agood thing to do if its raining[;)]

So now I have an outside workbench in addition to the inside bench. This bench will be for scenery building and detail work so I dont have to schlep everything back and forth to the inside. Now, if I can just get rid of all the other junk in there without my wife noticing![swg]

Hi vsmith
does thi mean we could see a stabalizing of the shrinkage rate on the ever shrinking railroad and perhaps some minor growth in size..
My railroad has stagnated growth wise due to work and supply problems althouugh I now have the rooffing for my ice cream stick passanger shelter work doesnt seem to want me to finish it[:(]
I need to get some work done on the line as the second running season and major engineering season is aproaching fast.

Hi John,

Hehehe, will it grow? A little, maybe. If I can move the other workbench out there, the one I didnt build, 2 feet over to the east I can expand my south yard a couple more straight sections... Might not sound like a lot but thats quite an expansion for me. Not going to try that until later this spring.

Overall its stabilized at 8' x 10' overall with a 2'x10' yard extension along the back wall. I guess you could say its back to where it was at this time last year, back to 8' x 20' albeit with a radically different track plan!

RE your station, I try to do at least 10 minutes of work a night on somethingbecause even if its only 10 minutes of work, its ten minutes farther along than it was yesterday. A little bit of work each day adds up.

Good morning all, just got an email that a new cab forward is coming, they said $6500. I have only seen the Aristo version and it looked less. If $6500 is the price no cab forward for me. O version is $1249 if Lionel ever makes it.

Sat down with a contractor friend, he has some extra ponds so we talked where I could put it in the yard to use with train. Now we are trying to devise overflow method in case of more rain so the tracks don't get swamped. Been thinking of just doing a swamp then less gardening has to be done. Of course as soon as that scenario gets decided it probably will stop raining and turn back to dry desert. For those of you in rainy areas, how are you dealing with your layouts, is it wrecking havoc on the scenery?

Hey guys if you could add my 6 year old son to your prayers. Just got word that he is going into surgury tomorrow morning for an adnoidectomy and tubes in his ears. Seems he is almost deaf in one ear. The doc thinks this will fix that. [angel]

Take care

Tim,

Good luck with your sons operation,

As for swamping problems, if its consistant and cant be helped with better drainage, the best solution seams to be a raised roadbed, either in a raised planter or adding soil to raise the track area. Get the track up about the water level.

Tim, If you decide to build the pond see if your aloud to put a drain next to the pond or in the low spot of the yard and tie it into the downspout drain which drains into the sewer or street. I'm going to need to do this due to my terrible grade.

Hello all,

Foggy today, but nicer than rain! Been busy with trying to finish up a bunch of building facades that have been laying around half baked for some time now, no other progress on the layout. I bought a bunch of Piko wild west structures when it was going to be an outer but as an inner its a bit tough finding room for a whole building so I've been reworking them as facades to line the backdrop of my layout. In that regard they work great but I'm dangerously close to this thing becoming an Urban layout [;)] that might not be a bad thing but but we'll see, I have to finish my G microlayout also, it needs several facades to finish it up. I'll try to get some progress pics of the facades posted to my MLS space tonight, then I can post them over here on the "saga" thread, Later Vic

Good Morning guys, how is everyone doing ?

Sons operation came out great, while he slept tonight no snoring. All came out well. Thanks for the good thoughts Vic.

Matt, my contractor buddy and I are going layout looking next weekend. See what others have done. With it usually being dry here, ie never rains, we are looking to see how other layout got affected. Then we will build drainage accordingly. I was able to mow the backyard, but the ground is soggy. Also the slope leads into my house instead of away, so a complete redo may be in order. Not sure yet, as this is only the second time in 13 years we have had this problem.

Bman, congrats on becoming a 4 star general. [wow][yeah] [swg][swg][swg][swg][swg]

Take care all

Hi vsmith
Thanks for the tip
Don't supose you know any one who has built a a little narrow gauge explosives truck
was looking in a book on welsh narrow gauge today and saw one but not really right for my railway not the right style.
Was wondering what other types where about and how easy to build they might be and where the drawing came from, I am a hopless case without a drawing to work from
Though at ten minutes a day could turn into a life time job just like the stafion

Hello Rene, thank you for your concern. That is why I love these forums. Good people. He came through the surgery like a champion. 30 minutes, and he doesn't snore anymore, he can hear, and he talks clearer than ever. All because a the school tests. We were able to get him to the doctors, and with a cancelation got him in two months before scheduled. He is playing trains with his Thomas and friends. Also his military train. We traded out green crepe paper for a roll of grass, so his temp layout is looking better than ever.

Rene, how bout some articles in GRR about other gauges in the great outdoors. I hear lots of Brits have HO/OO outside, and Wild Bill has O, there has got to be more even.

Take care and thanks for asking. He smiles everytime I tell him another train person asked how he is.
