Good Morning all,

Bluebonnet-74, Our local Michaels has had the xmas stuff out for a couple of weeks already. In fact, today paper has an add with 30% off Lemax xmas collection.

The Halloween stuff was on sale, 25% off last week.

BB71, the additive that I know of is called Sonabourne(SPELL?) It's like a sealer that's mixed with the mortar to seal out moisture. If you use a ready mix motar or concrete add 1/3 portland cement to your mix to add strength. If your laying stones, block or brick add portland cement until the mortar sticks to your trowel.Have you ever seen a stucco house that the stucco still looks wet after a rain..Sonobourne would keep this from happening. I 've seen plywood rotted away behind perfectly good stucco because of no additive.

I went to a Who concert back in the 80's and I swear my ears rang for a week after, of course it didnt help being about 60' from the stage...
As for the best version of Sky is Crying, I still defer to the original by Elmore James.

Actually my hearings been pretty well gone for 13 yrs. One day at the gun range in my early twenties I cranked off a few hundred rounds with no ear protection...What a dumb *** I was! Then there's the constant usage of pwer tools on a daily basis. My wife tells me I need hearing aids, I tell her NO WAY in a house full of women( 5 total)!

I can't say I've ever heard Elmore James sing it, to compare with the others.

Ian, Well I can only I can only comment on as few- 3 planes a day is probably due to the high airfair[:D] With no guns-that's why you have such a high amount of top of the food chain preditors, sharks, crocs, and snakes! Honestly I hate to fly with a passion! But would do it in a minute to go to Queensland. What do you all think of your celeb Steve Erwin? I personally enjoy him.

Vic, At the BB King Show the fans booed the concert promoters, you could see them motioning George to come of stage. ... He played on! I did get to see him when he was on tour for his Boogie People Album/CD at a small club because he didn't sell enough tickets, It was way better being 12 feet away watching him jam! I Have much of his music on vinyl and still spin'em!

Allright for the record- I think George's version of THE SKY IS CRYING is better than Stevie Ray Vaughn's.

I played drums in a Polka band in Cleveland, OH back in the early sixties. Mostly weddings and picnics (in hindsight, we were terrible). Later I hooked up with a piano player and bassist and we took a whack at jazz (again, we were terrible). Dave Brubeck was all the rage and Joe Morrello was my hero. We played a few clubs around town and you're right, there's nothing quite like being on stage. I haven't picked up a stick in over forty years.

Matt,

seen all those guys including the King, BB King. Saw him last summer at the Hollywood bowl along with George Thorogood, NO ONE rocks like Thorogood, I saw him open for the Rolling Stones once, he was WAY better than the Stones!

Ah... the "Alcoholic Music Postulate." I am greatly familiar with it.

I wrote a song called the "Vanilla Polka," I would like for ya'll to hear it some time. I think the file is too large to send. If anyone wants a copy of in on CD, e-mail me and we can make arrangements, lest someone knows some download site that is secure (it is copyrighted material)

Vic, I've never seen Buddy Guy but he does play Columbus Ohio quite often. I did however go to the BB King blues festival last year or the year before. I got to see the Fabulous Thunder Birds, George Thorogood and the Destroyers, and of course BB King. George stole the show though!

Capt, I play guitar and sing a little myself, I tell people the more booze you consume the better I sound[:D]

Well, we had a gig last night in Victoria, Texas. As some of you may know, I play in a Mariachi band named "Mariachi Del Sol." It was "Stage work," we normally play at large halls for weddings or and people's house when they hire us. Being on stage is something else, but there is no rush like it (of course, save a smooth running train on tracks you placed yourself!

let try to get this rolling again..

Hot here today HOT HOT HOT !!!!!!!

101 in Long Beach yesterday and it will be over that again in Pasadena again today, up to 107 in parts of LA today Holy Smoking Asphalt!

Yesterday went to the 25th Long Beach Blues Festivale, great show! Clarence Carter, Little Milton , Leon Rustle and my fav' Buddy Guy, but the HEAT was horrible! no breeze till around 2pm wow!

At least we dont have to deal with the hurricanes though, sheesh, two in as many weeks, and another on the ay for next weekend!

out here were all waiting for the earthquake predictions to happen. Scientist predict a 6+ earthquake for the south-eastern part of the state, problem is the prediction window ended yesterday, but they also predicted the Northridge earthquake but missed the window buy a few days so we are still expecting it, This unusual heat is EARTHQUAKE WEATHER!

There, that should get some talk going!

I do love Beer, eggnog, and good wine, but my stomach and heath does not allow it. Maybe I can have a (like only 1) beer once a month.

I do have a G gauge Bachmann set, have not had it set up since II moved here 5 years ago. I wanted to set it up out side, but my wife says I would spend more time with it than cutting the grass. I don’t understand her problem, as it sounded good to me.

For me its a wee nip of rum...for medicainal purposes of course. Anyhow, I do so love the holidays, especially since we have the LIttle One now.

I take it that means less egg more nog.[swg]

So do you bring the trains inside for Christmas?

This year I am going to "ring the tree" with a circle of track, I believe that is the one best destiny for that Bachmann Track that came with the Gold Rush Set.
