BB71, the additive that I know of is called Sonabourne(SPELL?) It's like a sealer that's mixed with the mortar to seal out moisture. If you use a ready mix motar or concrete add 1/3 portland cement to your mix to add strength. If your laying stones,block or brick add portland cement until the mortar sticks to your trowel.Have you ever seen a stucco house that the stucco still looks wet after a rain..Sonobourne would keep this from happening. I 've seen plywood rotted away behind perfectly good stucco because of no additive. <br />Sonabourne
