Redneck Whirlpool and Hot Tub:

Using a pickup bed, sealing the bed, and using shopvacs to blow air into the water, and use a submerisible hot water heater to warm the water.

Done that before, and for those with pickup tucks, I would recommend it.

I forgot what else I was going to say.

Groton Still Sucks.......

So many scales, so many trains, so little time.....

I live 40 miles due north of New Orleans, across the lake in a small town of Lacombe, Louisiana. We just got power on Saturday and today is the first day to look at the forum, "Bob" if you think like that then I guess we should not rebuild where we have Tornadoes, Earthquakes, Wild Fires, Floods, Blizzards, Etc.... No matter where you live, one or two of these things can happen to you and your family, so before I would say what you said, you need to take a step back and look what could happen to you. You can not change mother nature. Also Bob if New Orleans and the Louisiana gulf coast was not to rebuild you would be paying $10.00+ a gallon of gas, do you want that? Also Bob, New Orleans is one of the major ports to the United States, if it was to stop, it would kill railroad's, barge lines, many trucking company's... Do you want that? So the next time you say they should not rebuild, look at your car, the food on your table, your home and say "how and where does some of these items come from"? Think before you speak!!!!!

Toady:

Looking like you may need to act like a duck!  You might consider sandbagging the GRR just in case the tidal surge hits and you ain't that high up.  Again, I ask you not to risk taking that once in a lifetime pix!

Toad, You'd best be headin' for hi ground. The last report I just saw, the guy is a little crazy but faily reliable, was figuring on Freeport as being in the crosshairs. Isn't that in your neck of the woods?

Toad came through A-OK

Spoke on the phone with him, power out for 4.5 million people, he's hanging in there OK though.

Trees down on his street and area and some flooding north but that seams to be the worst of it for him.

He's likely to offline for a while until his satalite connection is repaired

Till then he says he'll just be chillin with a friend:

Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Thanks for the update Vic.  That was my sole reason to log on this morning, to see if anyone had heard from Toad.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Ike, classified documents were found floating downstream from the home of Toad Frog & White Lightning Railroad. These documents are purported to be Toad's new plans for rebuilding the TF&WL RR after the devastation caused by Ike. The accompanying photo is reported to be an "official" prototype of the proposed expansion.

Shame he can't see that one T.

However I too spoke with him the other day and he says all is well except for a few down'd trees. He said they'd probably be without power for 4 to 6 weeks or so, according to radio reports he's getting on his battery powered radio.

I put it up knowing he would not see it for a few days, we've exchanged a few e-mails over the past so he should be looking for me to putz with him. He'll get even once he get back on line.

Yeah T. I just spoke with him again this morning, and tried to explain how you messing with him, he just laughs, says he's been "Steaking Out" no pun intended, as he was a former Cop, but with no power and all, the grill is the way to go for now he says.

Says he's doing alcohol wipe baths and all for now WHEW.....and been picking up all the loose limbs that blew down, but all and all he's OK, I guess, from what he says, I guess it must really be hard in the heat and all, and no power for at least a few more weeks, so he says they're being told.

I just got a generator because 4.5 million people was with out power so as we are last on there list myself and my mom stand in line for one. Medication is abit low but Kroger's is open! Had a cold front move in after Ike and cooled the nights down in the 60s When I was helping move some massive tree limbs off the road I herd cries for help and went into first responder mode and found a male kitten. He is now named Ike Hurricane Pugh. Pull all the heavy limbs I could until we could get a large (very) tractor in and now our route out to main road is cleared. Much is picking up and sawing but damage is to a low. God (yours - mine) Bless the responders who have helped my family and others out! William Pugh William Gray Thunder Ole Toad And what ever else people call me   PS stress is at a all time high!

Toad - No one can take Ole Toad, Savy!
