What would we do without the Toad, GET WELL SOON
Steve
OUCH, get better sooner then later.
Dave
The head is gray, hands don't work , back is weak, legs give out, eyes are gone, money go's and my wife still love's Me.
Dude, sorry to hear this, what a bummer!
Glad to hear you sound like it wasnt too terrible on your body. Hopefully the insurance will buy you a nice replacement vehicle or at least the green to buy a better one. More hopefully the bum that hit you gets a nice booking in the greybar hotel.
Take a couple days off if you can, to let your body adjust and recover, hang in there Bro!
Later Vic
Have fun with your trains
Wow, you guys are great. How you come to the rescue of one of your fellows. I think it's wonderful. It sure makes you feel good about things.
I know you guys have really made his day, and mine too.

I can't figure out how they can say smoking is bad, so we'll make it illegal most everywhere and tax the hell out of it; but they can't put an equal tax on the booze! Tax the heck out of it and maybe we'd have fewer drunk drivers!
Toad, I'm glad you're still around, don't let it get you down cause that would be letting the ba----ds win!
Toad; although I'm new on here I enjoy your postings feel you're a friend. I wish you a speedy recovery.
Rob

Glad you're still with us ToadFrog. Most everyone has some horror story about personal tragedy at the hands of a drunk driver (My Mother-in-law was the picture of a perfect Grandma and was on her way home from church on a Sunday night when a drunk in an Lincoln Towncar ran a stop sign at about 70 mph....). Although a time-consuming hassle to prosecute, I always felt that arresting a drunk driver was one of the best things I could do as a police officer.... didn't keep track of how many over a 30-year career, but I hope some lives were saved along the way. The world still seems to be full of folks who think they can beat those odds, though, and they selfishly still try to drive.
Keep the X-acto out of that left hand until you're healed!

Count your blessings my friend. I am glad you are ok. Hopefully they will lock up that person for a long time but I doubt it. Giving you a citation is crap!

Long live Outdoor Model Railroading.
Get well soon my friend. I am glad you are still with us in the land of the living. Drunk drivers have taken five of my friends over the last several years. Forget the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, there is one on our very streets that takes tens of thousands of lives a year.
So now what to spend the insurance money on, hmmm............
The Dixie D Short Line "Lux Lucet In Tenebris Nihil Igitur Mors Est Ad Nos 2001"

OK Toad: Enough already, wrecking the truck to get the money to make the monthly payment is not the way to go. (enough of my sick humor)
Get well my friend.

I know this probably isn't the place, however I wasn't sure where to put this. Toady was hit by a drunk driver today. He had to be cut out of his truck. He was taken to the hospital and is home tonight. They didn't find anything major wrong with him. He is sore and bruised and with his left hand, can't hold on to anything. He has re-injured his lower back and His truck is a total loss. He was trying to sell it too.
Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. This is the last thing that he needed. It has been such a bad year so far for him. I know that you all like him and consider him a friend. Let him know how much you care.
