Toad, I just got back from a trip and read all this.  Glad to hear that you are basically ok.  It could of been a worse.  It is said that how we handle adversity is what really counts.  You have done a very good job of it, especially saying that it was good it was you and not a family, where someone might have been killed. Usually in a event such as this, the victim, you in this case, is the one hurt the most. You have handled it very well, and I wish you a continued speedy, complete recovery.

2 things came out good.

  1. Ticket dismissed.
  2. I took a hit from a DWI driver that could have killed a car load of family members and they might not be here now. Beat the odds on that one.

The bad things.

  1. No new money for toys, just money for a new truck (4 banger?)
  2. Shows on accident report I caused the accident and his insurance company has not sued but still can.
  3. Both thumbs, both pointer fingers and both bird fingers are still messed up but do not function 100% more like 80%.
  4. My kitbash I am working on ain't working out! Really stressing me.

Other than that have to buy Christmas for mom and that killed some money, think last Christmas my dad was going to buy me F-ABA AT&SF units but something happened other than his sickness and crappy Dr..

Even been working on a blog with Sweet Santa Fe, so I am having time for stuff to do. I miss mowing the most with really 2" of rain here.

I am really thinking about getting my mowing business back from the fire.

Update:

As of Aug. 14, 08 the citation I received from the wreck was dismissed by the Assistant District Attorney. She asked if I did in fact stop at the stop sign and I said yes. Much other was said but to my delight the Trooper never showed.

Now I have some train riding money!

John, we were on the phone.  I heard it all.  It's scary when you're talking to someone, you hear tires screach, a crash and then nothing.  I didn't know what to think.  But at least he wasn't holding the phone up to his ear, he was on his headset.  I think I must have distracted him, somehow.

Too bad about the truck but at least it got totaled.  I had to through the nightmare of getting my car fixed.  make sure you keep records of your medical expenses....they owe you pain and suffering money also.

Funny you should say it. By 9:00pm they called and had my information. By whatever time I moaned down there to pick up my stuff out of the truck about 10 min. into removing the stuff the guy was there with camera and business card. He said it is totaled because of this photo.

Notice the pipe and the cab was moved all the way to the frame of the truck (above pipe) sorry I could not get that pix cause I am still soar as a toad that got hit with a M-80!

He even told me that since the truck was alread in Truck Trader that I will be receiving more not only cause of the damage but cause the other guy was DWI.

Went to DPS and picked up my ticket, had my fathers name on it and the girls there cought it. Thought to myself dam but did notice the TDL# was mine.

Still this hurts much, not pain from accident but Dad gave me the truck (after he drove it around), I work out of the truck for along time, it was amuch a piece of me as him and I have to say I broke down and cried, is like some from him taken away again.

William

Word of advice, make sure YOUR insurance adjuster looks at your truck also, not just that other bums insurance agent. Reason?

A few years ago our parked car, a Toyota RAV4 got hit by someone, tore the back end of it up, but the insurance company said it could be fixed and sure enough they did a bang up job of it, BUT... a few years later when we were looking for a new car, we found to our shock that the dealer wouldnt give us anything in trade in, why?

Because in the accident the frame got bent, and the repair shop put it on a straightening rig and the marks from that rig were noticed by the estimator, turns out cars that have been in accidents bad enough to warrent a frame realignment are in the eyes of a dealer, unsellable as they have potential hidden damage/weaknesses and/or non-factory welds or repairs that no dealer wants to take the long term liablity if in a future accident those repairs should fail and resulting in worse injuries and that our best option ws to sell it on our own and come back with the green we got for it. Thats what they told us, we were totally shocked to say the least.

The result was that we had to sell the car on the open market, which was a big PITA for us. So if your insurance agent says that the frame has indeed been bent, mention our case and have your agent do their best to get the car declared totaled, and have the bums insurance pay for a new vehicle.

It sure looks bent to me.

   Have fun with your trains

Thanks All! I really do mean it. Smile [:)]

One thing to remember when making a movie of photos for your friends to see Photobucket will not accept this:

"Video upload failed Upload failed for Accident 2008 GMC.wmv with error: This is to notify you that the content uploaded was recognized by Photobucket's copyright filter and as a consequence, has been blocked."

All I did was abit of humor at the end credits with © (Alt + 0169) William Pugh.

So they zapped me. My truck, my pixs, my movie.....if I could I would shoot them the bird to.

On to You Tube (I hate).
