OK I'm going on a road trip anyway I'll be looking on tuesday.
Dave
The head is gray, hands don't work , back is weak, legs give out, eyes are gone, money go's and my wife still love's Me.
Com'on Dave, I havent even had a chance to wire the pick ups from the tender to the engine yet, so there no way I'm going to video this herky-jerky till I do that...
I havent been at my bench all week for more than 5 minutes at a time, mostly to change a coupler or two, been a busier week than usual!
Have fun with your trains

And I ask one more time.
The Flu is way better then what i still have, I was in the hospital for 5 days, and I still am recovering, my 2hr outing to the LHS wore me out. So let's get busy with the Vidio's
user="ToadFrog&WhiteLightn" I been placing my stuff in boxes. Maybe when I get older a spark will trigger again. All I will be doing as far as G Gauge is producing critter parts for who ever.Toad

Toad, I dont know how involved your dad was with you in your hobby, if he was very involved with you that can be rough hurdle to overcome, but even just the loss of any family member is traumatic, so give yourself enough time to grieve and reflect, trains are less important than family, with time the bug will either return or you'll find something else that you enjoy doing, thats the nature of hobbies.

Looks good, now try to build your own big boy for under $200.
After seeing any Vic's stuff, I know he could.
vsmith wrote:But where would I run it?
Well now, if you were to pay particular heed to what you were doing and it could make it through a 38 inch radius inside a tunnel with 5 inch clearance to the inside of the curve............ You could drive down to Oceanside. Just don't expect to try the run up to Chateau de Vic atop the falls.
Tom Trigg
Sorry guys no videos for a while. I've been down with them flu for the last 2 days, looks like I'll be down for another couple at least, so much for my flu shot!
Looks cool man!!! And here I was going to mold a cab and front of a track cleaner, but I can see my hands stuck together. No really it is great! Only thing about the wheels I never liked was the dumby one when not on the track.
Tell you the truth, have not touched any thing since dad past on.
is this the one you were teasing us about?
Very nice Vic!
Painted:
Paint covers a wealth of sins...
What I wanted, from Accurcraft, only in narrow gauge:
So with an old Bug Mauler drivetrain I had modified previously to an 0-6-0 set up but had never done anything with, I gave it a whirl...
Boiler, 60mm PVC, cut and fitted to the Bug Mauler chassis, boy was this one hellova mess to cut
Tender test, I just had this one left over from my 2-4-2 that got mashed into a Heisler
A/C switcher pilot beam attached
Stack from a A/C switcher, cheapo Scientific domes, assorted fiddly bits attached
Rear view with fiddly bits attached, cab from a Scientific epoxied to the boiler
Side view, the whole boiler/cab assembly can be unscrewed from the drive with the same screw holes
Pilot with steps and tank added
I literally threw this one together quite literally as Warren would say, "right out of the garbage can" (parts trough), and I might say with a rather unashamed sloppyness and a further unashamed haste. I'm getting more impatient as I age.
Test ran it on the layout. Runs like crap!
Herky jerky due to poor power pick up. Crap drive! Need to add pickups to all the tender wheels to fix that. Thats why I screwed the boiler/chassis togther so I can add a different drive chassis somewhere down the line. I'm not too sure about that tender, looks smallish, have a slopeback coming from weaselBay. We'll see how that looks when that arrives. Need to change the headlight with one that works.
I will post some more pics soon, maybe tonight.
