As the Chief just returned from a trip, and a multitude guys have placed a signifcant amount wagering on the timeliness of the Chiefs scenery development. I have felt that it is only right to give him a chance. With this in mind I thought I would help provide him with some of the scenery. As this pretty much has to be done via the forum, I have the first submission.
Since the cost is compimentary, it should be well within budget.
And just to make it fair, the instructions are below:

I think Chief will use the carpeting for scenery.
He may not stick to your plans though Don !! Since he can look out any of his windows & see all kinds of variations, though they would all be prototypical !!

Gives carpet running a completely different thought. Sounds like something dogs do when they have a itchy bottom. By the way, for those not familiar with these fine examples of contruction and utilitarian buildings, always carry a stick. Another good thing to have handy is a bag of lye. The Lye is spread over the , well just pour it down the hole when done. The stick is to rap the sides before you sit down as snakes have been known to hide in these and can make for a big suprise when your pants are around your ankles.

Blackwidows too. Pretty good for a guy from a part of the country that screnery is nothing but browns, dry concrete rivers and English is the second language. Like the new series on Show Time, Californication.

OH! Ya hurt me big guy! Actually, I have level 2 done, levels 1 and 3 have all the drops done, just need to run mains to fuse blocks and they will be done. Not much left. Also have started some scenery, but alas, I have been delayed......again.

As usual, someone's beaten me to it.
I can only add that Chief needs a couple of O-scale roosters n' chickens to peck the underpile for corn. Ferrol Sams readers know that this is why fowl were locked up in the henhouse on a strict diet of ... non-previously digested ... corn for at least a week prior to slaughter.

OOPS, there goes that Berk. What Berk? [have you picked it up yet? I was in Phoenix Sat. so did not get to Miss Edna's].
I picked it up Saturday. It runs much better and the guys did a great job as I expected (which I very much appreciate) and you predicted. The only issue is that there's kind of a "tink" or clashing sound from the rods on one side. I have to go back to pick up the 0-8-0 that had the sound problem so when that's ready I may bring the Berk with me to see what Steve and Jerry think of the rods sound issue.
But as I said, the Berk runs awesome now. Jerry said that when they took the bottom plate off there was much "goop" from the old smoke pellets inside (recall the 1946 is a smoke bulb unit, unique to that year with the Berk) that had trickled in from the front. They fixed it so this will not re-occur.
Watching that old engine charge around the layout gives me much joy, I can tell you. It's a huge addition to the fleet - literally, as it's bigger than all my steam power barring the mighty Dreyfus Hudson.
RTF - Let me know what they did to your 0-8-0 and if it made a difference. I got a new Trainsounds board from Lionel and it didn't do a thing... I may drop it off at the LHS that is close to the new house that is a Lionel Service Center, if yours got fixed - then I can tell them what to do to mine! email me if you can bleister88@gmail.com

I will definitely let you know what the outcome is, Brent. To give you an idea of how top notch this shop is, they offered to swap mine out with another new 0-8-0 they had on hand. I declined, as I'd been running mine quite a bit and that did not seem fair to them. Still, that they offered this gives you an idea of how well they treat a customer, which is excellently in their case.

up north she'll throw a shoe, down south they don't wear'em so you have to watch out for those cast iron skillets.

I married a California liberal who went to Berkeley, so I just get haughty disapproval rather than a thrown skillet.
