Pictures from yesterday's work and how the room is looking now.  In the pictures, yu can see the small holes in the wall.  That is the angle of the roof and the ceiling of the walkin attic the trains will be going into.   The holes closest to the door is the edge of the closet you walk through to get into the attic.  Now you see the tight restraints to get through the wall.

Just can't seem to get the "off the carpet" idea. Wink [;)]

Actually working on haw the curves and the lift will fit and tie into the two sections of benchwork.  The switch to the left of the screen goes to a siding next to the chimney and the switch on the right in the inner loop goes to the grain siding.

Left side 90% finished.  Will do pictues tomorrow.  Got a funny one too.  Had to go to SIL's and see new Springer Spaniel puppies [wife is threatening to get one, its her sister's].  Spent some time planning the curves [072] running right beside each other.  RR Tracks is good but not that good.  Got is so I can do liftout at doorway.  Later.

Work done this afternoon.  Finished the right side except the little short part that goes to lift out/drop down Question [?].  The biggest table for the left side.

Can see walk way on the wall side.

More tomorrow.

Chief,

Wish I could even get your price on plywood, down here in hurricane alley plywood is almost double the price that you might pay, reason is that people use it on the windows when a hurricane comes. Plywood might be triple what jefelectric pays up north as compared to south Florida.

Most of my plywood is second hand or found in the trash lately if I need any, almost like buying gold.

Pulling the right side layout away from the wall so it is two sided.  Still plenty of room in the middle isle.  Cutting back to two mainlines and expanding the sidings [results of meeting at Miss Edna's].  When you walk in the door, yu can go right down an isle and down the window wall to the end OR go through lift up/drop down and go up middle isle and into the second room.  The layout section on the left wall remains against the wall.  I only lose 14 inches of track/layout length.  If I ha not made the right walkable on all sides, I would have had to build several lift outs to get to the wall side of the layout.  I plan on running a backdrop [mountains] from one end of the right side layout the the wall.  This will divide the coal mines and loading from the rest of the layout.  Back side will also have mountains to match the coaling operation.   Spent all afternoon on RR tracks revising the plan to give Miss Edna a count of the switches I will be getting as I bought all of her MTH 072's.

Yes, Chief, keep going!  We need more snow so that we can go skiing in NY, PA or OH.  You are working 24-7, aren't you?  If not, get the lead out!

Thanks for the link. I will be useing the traditional plywood for a base and then build up elevations with the foam boards. My track plan has changed several times and I have finaly decided to go with a n around the room loop. lowest level will go out and around support post to be disgusied as the """''''folsoum" prision this will be On30with a gradual climeing to the the top levelwhere I will have a loop of 0-72 and an S gauge loop hopefully I can work in a passing sideing or two. I am using the Model Builer Software for the prison walls now I will have to find some chainlink fence and razer wire. I have found a source of prisoners in the classic stripes and in the orange jumpsuites they are made by Model power and can be had from Diecastdirect.May also use Trainsformations custom figures if she does not charge too much for a guard with stick and mirror on end to check under prison bus which I will have to find. the prison may end up being the most detailed part of the layoutPirate [oX)]

I forgot to mention that what I bought was good quality Blue board.  The big box stores, in our area seem to only carry thinner stuff & lower quality white board that separates easily.  I buy from a local building supply that carries a better selection.

Down here, it is 1/2 [as thick as you can get at HD and Lowe's] and its $11 per sheet.  To get 2 "=$44.   No way.  Wish I could get it like you Yanks.  Not that cold down here so no call for it.

Chief, Looking good. Thumbs Up [tup]

CSXect, If my memory is correct I paid around $25.00 for a 4' X 8' sheet 2" thick not to long ago.  Of course thinner would be less.

Old man winter broke wind today in Ohio trees down everywhere cold and rain and power outages just in time for supper all the resturants where very busy today as no one could see how to cook at home, funny thing power to the houses were out but street lights and fastfood places were lit up.

Will be using drylock paint, the musty smell is just about gone, when I bought the house 4 years ago there was 3 layers of old nasty carpet and a wet floor from where the previous owner botched up an water heater install, a little rework was needed and not that bad being I got the house cheap through the sheriffs auction.

How expensive is foamboard ?

Shock [:O] I'm shocked.. I see 4 legs and some sort of benchwork growing in the chiefs house..

Way to go Chief!! Those heavy boards will be less heavy if you cut them to size before you get them up the stairs.  In your benchwork, put some extra beams in to support the wheight of your boards and drill a few holes while it's easy to reacht to put the wires through.

I'm on the tip of my seat to know what will be next. The world IS changingSmile [:)] (for the good that is..)
