I am planning on it. Seems people never observe the holidays when getting sick. Actually, right around the holidays seems to be one of our busiest times. I also asked one of the orderlies who is into HO, he is planning on bringing an engine. I will bring one, but it will probably be something small like either a pacific or Beep.

Buckeye,
I agree, a cab ride would be a fantastic way to get to work on Friday.
I think about bringing a train to work each year and then decide not to because I am fairly certain that it would be frowned upon. A few people here know I have trains but rarely does the subject come up. There is one person that I talk with about trains every now and then but don't spend too much time doing it.
Greg, you just reminded me of something heading my way. My wife's teacher's party is going to be at our house this year, which means that everyone will want to run the trains. Then they will want to have a field trip for their class to my house to run the trains. Pretty soon all the elementary schools in Columbus will be making field trips to my house to run the trains.
Somehow this is getting out of control.
I have all the nurses and scrup techs saving different items for my layout. I figure I will bring a train, but I know that they are expecting a big party at our house once the layout is done so that they can see the results of all this saving.

Doug, I'm surprised you had to ask the question. The answer is obvious; THE DUMP or if he has more time for refinements, THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT.
What do I bring to work ? !! We already have trains there !!
Great topic Doug !!
Thanks, John

How did you guys know I was modelling Ohio? That is why I have not posted the photos yet, I was trying to suprise y'all. Anyway, we have a lot of extras at the end of a case. Such things as pulse pump motors, varied lengths of sternal wires ( wires used to hold the sternum together after heart surgery), electro cautery lines with wires in them, all kinds of containers, basically a lot of stuff that I need to make such things as industries along the rails. Sorry, no bed pans, so I guess I can model somewhere other than Ohio.

As an added way to expand the hobby, I bring my CTT/OGRs to work and leave them on the counter in between the heart rooms. I often come in to find the nurses, anesthesia, surgeons looking through them. It has started many conversations and I know of several folks that want to bring their old trains over once I get the layout up and running. To my knowledge, I may have the only O gauge layout for better than 90 miles, so we may be starting something.

Take a Model Train to Work Day was a success! We had 2 HO, 1 - N, 1 - S, and 1 - 0/027 set ups. We had folks talking about trains, remembering their first set, their dads helping them, siblings not helping them and a few commented about maybe possible future layouts. We used the same format as in 2004: three of us set things up, and I took the day off as vacation and ran everyones stuff plus my own! A few photos of the day are below. I'm the one in red plaid.
