JELECTRIC,
You'll like the tour up at WEAVER. Me and my principal buddy took the tour over Christmas last year. Nice bunch of people.
We'll have to get together again there at the CTT booth. I am going to go after school on Friday i'll be there probably by 4 and then again on Saturday.

Guess this means we really need to make up our minds if were going to this one or not. Seems like we're continually talking ourselves into and out of going. Don't need to buy anything, (that won't stop us), but would like to see a TMCC II demo. Just seems that the money spent to attend could be used to purchase layout supplies or maybe another engine.
Joe,
I forgot about that, RMT is another stop I must make, at least to take a look.
Steve,
Excellent.
Thanks for the update.
This York I am looking forward to seeing a TMCC2 demo by Lionel, and seeing the actual Cab-2, and I will be interested in seeing MTH's new catalog too..
YUZ GIZ are really on me now? Might have to bring some props for next photo shoot? Or my 800 lb bruin?
MITCH, sorrry it was just the spur of the moment thing. Got some laughs though?

Or you could offer $20.00 to any of the CTT Crew to stand in front of Laz for the next "Kodak Moment"[ Perhaps Neil,Kent,or Bob K could use a extra $20.00 for the Meet. Traveling can be a budget buster these days. Take Care.

JONADEL, If you come fly either into Philly or check out the rate to Harrisburg Pa. , it would be the Harrisburg International Airport just outside of Harrisburg in Middletown Pa. from there you are only about 40 minutes to YORK. Also rates on hotels will be cheaper.

Hey GIZ,
I'll be there too! Probably late Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
See YUZ GIZ at the CTT booth.
jonadel wrote:This one's for you PA guys. We are giving serious thought to attending York this fall even though I am not a TSA member. My first thought is to drive as I do enjoy driving a great deal, it would be a two day trip into an area of the country of which we have not visited before. But in Sunday's paper were some great flight prices into Pittsburg or Philly (about $208 round trip per person + taxes). If we drive we will plan a week of sight seeing which would culminate with the meet, if we fly it would less than a week and would rent a car for a few days. Any suggestions from those of you that live out there? Thanks. Jon
Don't go south of the MS line and you should have a wonderful time.
BTW, Southwest has had some really great rates to Philly.

Just go and enjoy the show. The vast majority of us do. .

Exactly...I have ignored all the politics with the Ohio State Fair and just gone and enjoyed the fair. The vast majority of the people that attend the fair just go and enjoy the show and that philosophy holds true for York, a fire station train layout, a tourist train, etc.

Walking to York....That would be a good article for CTT.
Yeah Mike, the Legacy posts are getting old and boring! Just when I was setting my sights on the October York show, we just received an invitation to my niece's Bat Mitzvah on October 14th.
Thankfully, the York show is October 19-21st!
Whew that was a close one!

Folks,
TCA Eastern Division puts on the biggest and best train meet I have ever attended.
For years people were asking me if I was going to York. My reply was no, I live 5 miles from the Maryland State Fairgrounds and they have several train shows there a year. How much better could York be? Finally someone (Paul Edgar) told me, just go, and you will see. They sponsored me and I went.
I was totally blown away. It had to be 5 times bigger than my local shows, the deals were much better, all the top brass from all the manufacturers were there, easy to talk with, and with nice layouts and their latest prototypes and items nicely displayed. I know I have saved several hundred dollars over the last few years by making my purchases at York meets. An additional plus is the commaradary amongst all us train nuts that gather from all over the country that makes the meet even better. It is similiar to a National Convention.
Another big TCA advantage is membership in your local chapter...mine is the Washington, Baltimore, and Annapolis chapter. The WBA chapter puts on several meets per year. At these meets you can rent a table for cheap, and sell of shelf queens, or old track. I have done this a few times with good results.
If you have never been to York...please just try it. I bet you too will be blown away. (ignore the petty politics)

Lot's of negative criticism of the Eastern Division show at York has been on the pages of many model RR forums. Perhaps having seen this; it is what the other forum was looking to avoid. Bottom line is that unless you are a board member, you or I won't be able to change the rules. Even with the rules as they are, York still is the best train show that I have even been at. I expect to be at York with my lovely wife Paula and yes she really likes trains. I usually wear a large name badge so if anyone notices it and wishes to say hello, please feel free to do so.
