That 022 switch is giving me trouble again

Does that switch have a green/red "Lantern" thst spins when you switch the track? if so chek it to see if the light or the metal is bent or distorted. I had 1 that did that, OMG what an pain in the rear! After I removed the bent part (I accidently broke it off![}:)]) It worked like new!

Well, the General that came with my son's Great Train Robbery set still doesn't like to go over that switch at too fast a speed, but now there's another problem.

It seems that the switch won't throw all of the way using the remote. Even manually, it won't go into either position easily. It's like something is binding in the throw mechanism.

Any ideas on what could be causing this?
