Sunday Photo Fun for 6-4-06
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, June 3, 2006 11:35 PM
Thought I'd start out on the Photo Fun once again......I got quite inspired from the layout I made during my visit to Houston that I made a small layout of my own when I got back home. While not as complex as my brothers, it still offers some running excitement in an decent amount of space.

And, I used some FT and used the transition pieces to connect to the O tubular I still have, and after running the trains I do notice the noise level difference when the train runs on the tubular side. Made two long sidings and the mainline running underneath the futon and back.

So here's my carpet central:

Hi Roy,
Those were great videos. Really love how you mixed the steam and diesel age.

hello every one I'm new to the sunday photo fun, but i have been reading it for several weeks now and i finally have something I can post.
I just had my backdrop finished this week so here are some pictures. I also included my layout plan. But this plan is being revised ( most likely) as I come up with better ideas. I will post more of my progress pictures as they come.
also great pictures guys they are very inspiring I like to see how others are progressing in there layouts or just enjoying them.

All engines on layout are TMCC controlled. Rolling stock is a mix of Lionel and MTH (with some Weaver and Kline in there) Track is all MTH RealTrax with a short spur of Lionel O-27 tubular for the Culvert Loader/Unloader siding.

Good evening everyone,

Chris, It is good you are young, us old guys would never be able to get up after operating on the floor for a while. Do you let it set up or tear it down when done with an operating session?

Roy, I guess I am a slow learner, I did it again, about jolted myself out of my chair with the audio. Boy is that loud! Great Video

Tom, More good pictures. I like the ore train.

Paul, Is that Holstein colored tank car a milk car? [:D]

Chad, A nice set of pictures and also a good looking layout plan. Wish you luck in your project.

macdannyk1, Great post, impressive layout.

Have a good night.

very little progress this week - one item has been hogging most of my effort for a while now.

Here is some progress on Brace Avenue.

Cut and applied most of the remaining clapboard and rigged up the staircase to see how much height I will need to go from the first to second floor porches. This will have bannisters on both levels and there is so much cutting and gluing small strips, I'll need new glasses.

However, while waiting for the road crew to come in and pour the concrete, Marty E has been hawking the daily rag at Marty's Corner News:

Progress Continues

For those of you who haven't tracked this progress, this is a TOY TRAIN layout, using remote control on 2-rail track in the garden. It may seem a bit disconcerting to toy train folk to see these on 2 rails; likewise for the "scale" 2 rail folks, it may seem a bit odd looking at oversized couplers and flanges on 2 rail track and garden RR folk may think it odd this isn't G-scale. Sooo, guess I'm an outsider.

Aerial views (pilings not yet completed)

Using battens to anchor track; compromised on this track alignment; using 072 (36” dia. curves here, as had no room to walk; these are the tightest curves on the line; oh well) (using 072 track to gauge where the line should go)

Used Quickrete to form piling portion; pulled it off after 3 hours and much of the concrete came off; like the “weathered” look so am gonna leave it! Lesson learned, Quickrete AINT quick!!!!!!!!!!!!

more aerials (pilings not done)

Mainline all finished except for the 10 foot stretch shown above with battens; need rails laid; ties stained; then have 3 spurs to work on to finish Phase A and start operations!
