Full time with a small set up, not a layout yet. We break ground on a building just for trains in the spring time. I had been in railroad hybernation until our neighbor who owns a railroad moved in and my son was born. Now I am back with a vengence. Dennis[:D]

Part time. I've got other toys to play with, antique tractors in the summer, and I'm an avid snowmobiler in the winter. I don't go overboard with any hobby so that allows me to dabble in a few when time permits (which free time is very hard to come by).

Christmas got me thinking about trains again...

part time but full time...........part time because I just accumilated them from my dad when he passed, so x-mas every year is the time to set them up but i might leave them up on the shelf year round (shelf around a 14 x 14ft room). but full time because learning everything that i can is a full time job sometimes and trying to get something running for x-mas (first time ever) and getting the fever to hook up other stuff to it.

happy holidays and thx for the help from all of you guys.

Seasonal with full-time back-yard aspirations.

I set up a Christmas layout the past two seasons and I've been working on setting up a garden layout - no track laid yet.

Full time or at least consider myself a full timer and model railroad collecter, mainly into Ogauge, have some S gauge American Flyer, some H.O. Like to collect items from
the Reading Railroad in O gauge, either Reading Lines (freigth service) or Reading Company (passenger service). Why the two names for Reading Railroad has to do with the anti-trust laws of he U.S.A., the federal government broke up the Reading Railroad that way in 1908 and so Reading formed two differant named companies with the same general owners.
Interested in southest Pennsylvania railroads; Reading & Northern, Reading Company, Reading Lines, Philadelphia & Reading.

Full time, though I spend more time in the basement in the winter months. I am now dreaming of catenary and trolley poles.

Right now - Full Time (building the table for O in the basement family room); in the past Part Time (had the HO table in the family room........ summers do cut in with lawn mowing, fi***o try and catch etc.....

I have been trying to analyse my time spent on the layout a bit lately. In the past whenever I was working on the old layout I always was rushing, pushing to get this done ASAP. Now it might have been because the children were younger and we had a lot more on the plate as a family...... great times but in the past....... but I found myself almost feeling like the table was another "job", not a hobby. But I find myself sort of getting into that mindset even now.... so I'm working on taking it easy and enjoying the "now", even if it is only 1 by 4's starting back at me.........

Full time collector of American Flyer. Once I retire I plan on moving back to my home town and the first thing will build is a platform. I will spend a lot more time with my trains espically during the winter. I really do not have room for a layout where I currently live and not a lot of spare time because of my job.

Full time addict. This month our club has done three shows with every weekend covered. We will have a two week brake before our next show. After running trains all day I find myself running mine in the evenings.I guess I need a life but can"t find anything that interests me. Ed

Part time, as I have too many other obsessions. Motorcycle, ham radio, wood and metal working, clock and old tool collecting and bird watching.
Always looking for the elusive double breasted mattress thrasher.

Full time year round collector, but do not run my trains much in the winter as I do not have a heated space. I'm working on that and may have a better space with workshop next near.[sigh]

Full time. I have a separate building that I've made a third of into a train room. Though, since the building is detached from the house (of course its alarmed) I don't run the trains as frequently as when they were in the house, some times too much of a hassel to put on shoes and maybe a jacket.

Part time, but only because I spend the winter in the south west and my trains are in Michigan. Don't have enough room in SUV or apartment to bring 'em with me.

Full time, with no consideration for holidays. One railroad. I do like to play poker as a diversion, though.

I was full-time for many years. For the past few, I've only had my Christmas layout. I hope to begin a permanant layout next year and get back to "full-time."

I'm full time. I have a separate garage on my house that the previous owner used to retore antique cars in. That's where I have my layout. I go out there whenever I want to,usually at night, to run trains or work on them.

I used to be only part time at Christmas, but one year my dad said I did not have to take them down, so now I am a full time modeler
