The best Father's Day present one could ever receive.
I'm looking forward to our first grandchild in sept. Started a maple cradle for one of her showers, she knows about this, but I'm also going to try to get a maple & walnut rockin' horse completed as a surprise. [^]

I know it's Monday, but I was working on the layout until after midnight last night......I just had to get more wood assembled.

WOW., Lizzard. You msut have spent a ton on lumber. I was going to use 1X4's but Lowes and Home Depot had their 1X4's priced twice as high as 2X4's. So, I'm using 2X4's. Was going to use 2X2's for legs but they were higher than 2X4's. Can not understand the lumber pricing. Looks good.

Great progress on your layout, PL. I hope to start work on my benchwork in a few weeks. L-girder or open grid? Is one better than the other or is it just a matter of preference?

I found that the grade A+ 1x3 were twice as high as the furring strip 1x 3 that had about the same quality.
In the end I spent about $120 on lumber, screws and glue.

Oh and $2.00 on bandaids, $6.55 on a 6 pack of Newcastle lager, and $10 on gas for my buddies truck.
