Championships are to Cleveland what lips are to chickens.

The World Series will return to San Francisco this year, but this time our beloved Giants (los Gigantes for those of you in the Mission) will win.

Say what you will about Barry, but steroids don't steal 506 bases.

Doug M.,
Stay out of the bleachers at the Cell - when the beer gets cut off in the 7th guys (and girls) start going at each other -lots of fights. I have to distract the kids. Also the language at the ballpark is just terrible. I wi***hey'd set aside seating for families. My son actually started crying once because a bunch of guys were hootin and hollerin so much. Elvis night brings out the families as does the fireworks shows on the weekends. Have fun at the ballpark. Hey, what about Lionel night!

Wow, Elvis night. Can't wait. We went to Wrigley too last year - the night game was an embarrassment of drunken yuppies. I felt sorry for the neighborhood. We left early (our section wasnt' fit for a young 'un's eyes and ears) Will try the sausage ;)

DDGRUMP,
They live up on CERVEZA Drive up by a country club at the bottom of the hill there was a driving range. Don't know if that will help but thats what I remember. They sort of overlook Lawerece Welk Village. We used to go to Brunos for Pitza on Friday nights, then sometimes to Whiskey Flats.

Doug M.,
I usually take my kids to Monday night games too, or tuesdays they have half price with a Pepsi can. We sat out by the left field foul pole one game and it was great. You get a good veiw right down the foul line, and you can watch the pitchers warm up in the bullpen.
Like the new ballpark, really good food - try an italian sausage it's great.
Took my son to a Cubs game also, 40,000 people in Wrigley is nuts. You feel like you're packed in and the view from 75% of the seats stink. Just feel alot more comfortable and entertained at "The Cell".
If you get a chance check out Elvis Night, it's usually in August. They have Elvis impersonators, skydiving Elvises, and scoreboard Elvis video. The skydiving Elvises are worth the price of the tiket. Oh, did I mention there's a ballgame too!

DOUG,
We use to listen to the games at night on the radio, only entertainment there after work, and we grew found of the Jerry Colman show and it was my bro in law that told us if there was an outstanding play Jerry would say "you could hang a star on that one."
That sort of thing kinda sticks with you.

DOUG,
Went to Escondido in '86 to build my sis and bro in laws home. Went to see about 5 games in SD over the summer. Thats when they had GOOSE GOSAGE and went to one of the give away nights and they gave the GOOSE CALL. Had alot of fun there. Someday I will return.

Paul, I'm a White Sox fan too - ever since I worked across from the old park at IIT. I'm going to bring my kids to their first games this year - one for each, Detroit and Toronto, during the half-price Mon night thing. Can't wait to boo Mags. I remember that Indians game from the radio - what a great name!

Yeah Laz, Google must love the White Sox. I said Twins all those times, and all that happened to the ads was, the train ones went away, only to be replaced by more White Sox.

I think I'll borrow from Harry Carry, and say "HOLY COW".[swg]

Has anyone noticed the google ads on the side of the page? There's model railroading and baseball ads. The problem is it's White Sox. Let me see if I can fix that.

Twins, Twins, Twins, Twins, Twins, Twins, Twins, Twins, Twins, Twins, Twins, Twins, Twins, Twins, Twins, Twins, Twins, Twins, Twins, Twins, Twins, Twins, Twins, Twins.

My cheering section may be small, but we're loud. Hope springs eternal.

TOM, you should of invited him to see your trains. Could have turned him on to the trains then he would be on the forum with us. Still wish he was in the BIG CLEVE.

I meet OMAR VIZQUEL. He was at a local open house for a Tool and Die company that we work with. I got a signed baseball and pic of him. My sister-in-law loves him and took both of them from me.

He is really a nice guy in person.

YO PAULIE,
The TRIBE IN 05!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WE got returning Big BEN BROUSSARD, JAKE the snake WESTBROOK,CC, BOB WICKMAN as the closer, BLASTIN BLAKE HAFNER, The cereal man COCO CRISP, and last but not least the man with all the pads VIC MARTINEZ. The only one that I really wish was with these guys was OMAR VIZQUEL, he was the heart of the TRIBE and would win lots of games for them but with the way baseball is guys or teams are not loyal to the fan base any more it kind of stinks.
Oh WELL TRIBE IN 05.

The best in the business, in my opinion, is not necessarilly the best based on his play by play but also on his history. As a young second baseman with the Yankees and on the verge of becoming a real major league star he put it all on hold to become a decorated combat pilot not only in WW2 but also leaving the game a second time for the Korean War. To this day he will not talk about his service history considering what he and others did to be nothing more than their duty.
The one and only voice of the San Diego Padres, Jerry Coleman. To Padres fans he is more affectionately know only as "The Colonel". [:D]
I thought Cocoa Crisp played for Kelloggs. [(-D]

All I know is that the Twins just resigned last year's American League Cy Young Award winner, and my season ticket invoice is on my desk. This makes 18 years going to the dome. Personally, I expect the Twins to four-peat as Central Division champs, in spite of some changes in the infield.

As for Hawk Harrelson, I think he is the most rude and biased baseball announcer I have ever heard, and I've heard a bunch over the years. Plain and simple, in my book, the guy ain't got no class.

Coco Crisp still an Indian?
Posted by pbjwilson on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 7:28 PM
I know, not a train subject but hey baseball spring training is getting under way. Saw a game last year(White Sox fan) and Coco Crisp, best name in baseball, made an outstanding catch in the outfield. Hawk Harrelson the White Sox broadcaster pretty much said it was THE best catch of the year.

So, the White Sox are fielding a totally new team this year, speed over power, we'll see what happens.

To all you buckeyes out there - Who's new and who's returning to the Indians. Like Coco and C.C. are they back? Look out for the "New" White Sox.
