Mornin' guys and gals. Sunny & 59 along the Alleghany front range. Day 5 in the books. Oldest grandson and I went to Lowe's, where I picked out some cheap flowers, and he chose the lumber for the new display shelves for the train room. Another stop at Kohl's, and was able to score two slip-n-slides at half off. Got home, and as the older boy unloaded the lumber, the younger one was put to work in the garden. Then they tore into the slip-n-slides for over an hour. Even FifeMax tried to get in on the fun. After taco dinner, back outside for another campfire.

Went to one of my favorite places today; Grand Pacific Junction in Olmsted Falls.  No action on the Norfolk Southern main line today but that's OK.  I sit in the gazebo and drink my malt and if a train shows up I take pictures and /or video.  Enjoy!

PS: note how some things have evolved and devolved in the 20 years that these photos were taken.

Been at our Ky. location for the last few days.  Took down some trees in our woods there where the shop building is going to go.

Our son living there is going to move into an apartment next month.  He has two dogs.  The small one can move in with him, but the larger lab mix won't be allowed.  Mom and add are adopting his lab mix.

Arrived home at our Mi. loaction this evening and started the process of acclamatting his dog and our Shelty/Staffordshire terrier mix with each other.  Going to be interesting, as our dog has the terrier personality- territorial, protective, stubborn, and hard headed.

Mornin' guys and gals. Cloudy and 63 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Day 6 in the books. Took oldest grandson to local diner for breakfast, then middle princess and baby boy joined us for a day at Delgrosso's water park, near Altoona. It was a nice time, and I really like the place. All three grandsons enjoyed themselves, but Grandmom had the best time. Newest grandson even walked into the lagoon up to his waist. Did Chik-fil-la on the way home...$64 for 4 adult meals and two kids. Woof.

I hadn't realized until now that the middle grandson is a terrier.Surprise

Hi Gang,

We had 1.4" of much needed rain on The North Bluff yesterday. Grass shot up 2" overnight so been on the Hustler SD 54" making hay as they say.

Feeling better every day, at times I almost feel normal,,,well no. Sad

Fife, 6 days would set me 6' down. Laugh I can take the dog but to keep up with the two kids, well,, that is why you have kids when your young. Wink I must admit our two on the daughter's side are easy and used to it here, that helps.

Bill things are looking good. Yes I did re-brush a ALCO 218 yesterday so some train action.

8N, I like the grand-dog thing. Smile, Wink & Grin

Mornin' guys and gals. Overcast and 66 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Will be volunteering at the caboose today. Will watch NASCAR race while piecing the den back together.

Day 7 in the books. Exchanged the grandsons with their parents in Frederick yesterday afternoon. I thanked oldest princess for the time with the boys, as it snapped me out of the fog I was in from the death of my friend.

Wifey and I had a niiiiice quiiiiet steak dinner at Texas Roadhouse.Dinner

Missed a lot of Coffee Pot action! Been busy, and the combination of very hot and very humid days has been less than thrilling. But it's nice to see the sun out! We should be getting rain tomorrow, we could really use it.

Saturday at the trolley museum was very busy, we had just enough volunteers to make it all work but there wasn't a lot of down time... apparently we had something like 90 people. Most days I'd call 50 or 60 to be pretty good numbers...

I did my best to fix our keyboard for my brother, one of the keys was having issues. I thought I got it fixed but he says it's still not working right. Checked it out, it works normally most of the time but sometimes it still doesn't want to work. I thought I did a pretty good job making sure the switch was clean and seated properly, so I'm not sure what to do next.

I couldn't help myself, and bought another Lionel HO locomotive to work on- and left a bid on a lot. If luck is on my side, the former should arrive before Saturday, since I'm off on vacation again with my family (this time a shorter trip, to Maine). If I win the lot, that'll probably show up some time before, or after I come back home.

Mornin' guys and gals. Rain and 70 in the Potomac Highlands. House cleaning and train shelf work today.

After I posted yesterday, BIG Lightning then "SNAP" power went out. FifeMax a mess. He even clawed up Wifey's exercize mat. She mad. I opted to head to museum anyway, and undecorated the caboose. Was able to save most of it for next year.

Oldest grandson spent a half-hour cracking his parents up, talking about all the funny things his grandparents said and did this past week. It was a good visit. Still need to put away the Toy Story train today.

Mornin' guys and gals. Sunny and hot along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Hosting the NRHS Chapter meet tonight at Fifedom. This is our third year doing this, and Ms Kelly really gets into it. Youngest Princess made cupcakes last night. I spent four hours cutting, trimming, pruning, and leaf blowing.

Finished the first train shelf unit, that oldest grandson started. It measures 65"W x 38"H x 4" D, and looks great.

Smokey1 - gave your vid a Yes. Hobby Lobby has a really cute collection of vehicles, close to G scale, including a VW mini-bus.

As Becky likes to say... here it is, up in lights for ya!

Video embedding is weird. Embedding the video won't automatically work, you have to edit the source code and look for your url- and add an "s" after the http. That seems to fix it just fine. I love the B&M Alco!

Mornin' guys and gals. Very warm in the Alleghenies. Will be taking down decorations today.

Last night, we hosted the WM Chapter at our home, with a cookout and train room session. Think the count was 17 attending, and Wifey was the hostess wit da mostess, once again. Ran trains for over an hour, with NO PILE-UPS (as Laz would say). Last of the guests left around 2130 hrs. One of the members presented Fifey with 2 CSX caps, and a RR magazine. I think folks had a nice time.

I did slap together another train shelf prior to our cookout, and it looks slapped together. May have to tweek on it today.

Evening.

Nothing much going on here, did catch the end of game 2 of a doubleheader between the Houston Astros and New York Yankees (Because, my favorite team, the Atlanta Braves aren't playing today) but that's about it. (Besides WalMart testing the fire alarm and all they said about it was "Don't be alarmed, it's just the fire alarm", and similar things)

Good Morning

Took the Mrs. to her birthday present last night to see Morris Day and the Time (Yes, of Prince fame) and she had a great time.  Weather cooled off just enough to be comfortable.  Opening act of the Discoteqs was very cool and funky.

Had a great time at Carlisle, catching up with our Mopar Family last weekend.

95+ today and tomorrow - grass will bake until it's cool enough to cut.  Starting to look jungle-esque out back.

Ordered a truck for my PRR EP-5 as the motor I bought fits but does not hit the gear - so that is on hold until 1 August.

Got my tickets for Greenburg Edison yesterday 6-7 of August.  The 14th I head to Mountain Top, PA to pick up a freebie N scale layout that's 4X4 in size.  Should fit in the Magnum with no problems.

On the 21st we are scheduled to hit the PRR Railroad Museum for the LCCA fun run, I'll be bringing my 2026 TMCC equipped engine and my C&O Berk with TMCC.  Maybe will bring cabooses for both.

Will check back soonest - prayers for all in need

Mornin' guys and gals. 76 with passing showers along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Spent weekend back near Baltimore. Best Friend's ceremony was touching. There was police honor guard, Army color guard, taps, and even a bag pipe. The banquet room was standing room only, which is a testament to how much Mac was loved. His widow was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support.

Saturday was spent at Sister-In-Law's house. Seafood dinner, then a dip in the pool. Next morning, took DD to Oldest Princess, and visited with grandsons before heading back to WV.

Good Morning

Softball last night - 2 for 3 and 2 RBIs, lost 14-8 - another game tonight - playoffs next Wednesday, I think.

85F yesterday with low humidity - was a nice night, we had Boston Market on Jenni's screen porch.  Left Jenn's late, another midnight sleep time.

Yanks lost to the Mets - we stayed up for that?

Saving my money for Greenburg's/Edison - I expect to get a few things then.  Awaiting my power truck for the PRR EP-5 tomorrow.  Also need to pick up my 1666 and GP38 from the train store - both are ready.  Plan is to get the 1666 (after 2 E-Units - I got fed up and sent it to someone else to fix) under power under Mom's Christmas Tree this year.  It ain't gonna be the same, but we must move on.

Fife - glad you could get to Mac's send off.  ANother one of my mentors passed in March, since I was so involved with Jenni's recovery, I missed that.  It is heartwarming that Mac ws so respected and loved.

75 now and cloudy up to 88F later
