Mrs is watching Prince Phillip's funeral. Saw his special Land Rover he designed for his 'hearse'. Told the wife she could parade my ashes around in the back of the El Cam - and then use the ashes as "Oil Zorb" Laugh

Time to buy a new bird-feeder...

I doubt that the pole mount feeder would hold up very well to this interloper. Dunce

Hello there,
Checking in from Delaware Seashore State Park

Rained most of Thursday, cleared in the afternoon so we rode down to Assateaque and pretty much got skunked looking for horses. Only one horse and a whitetail deer.

Very windy and cool yesterday stayed close to the camper. A visit to Seaside Hobbies, a train store in Ocean View DE. which is only a couple of miles away. Nothing there followed me. Had a discussion with the owner and a couple others hanging out there on the lack of train train shows and other effects of Wuhan. Then mailed post cards to grandkids.

Today we rode up to Bridgeville DE, about an hour, to get the best BBQ chicken ever followed by a nap. We're both still a bit tired, probably from the shot.

Granddaughter  and her partner got first place duet in their age group at the State Twirling competition today. She was 4th in her solo.

Best call it a night.
Prayers for those in need and the end of this pandemic

Rushed home to get ready for 9 AM Church. We made it on time. Rushed back to let Grandkids out again. They played out while I gathered my things and got all ready to leave. They were a good bunch. Lexie, Jack Russel, decided she would be GrandPa's girl this time. Was not a bad stay. Just had to travel back and forth a lot. Really not that far.

Enjoy your week ahead.

Afternoon all!

Party sunny and cool. A cold front on Tues/Wed night will take us into the 30's Wed am? Wowzers - we had a few days where we ran 10+ degrees above normal (70) and a bunch of days where we are running 10-15 degrees below normal. I'll take it!

Banks - yep the modulator is adjustable - but it only adjusts a couple of MPH up or down. If you try to run it up too far (turns in) the screw will come out inside the modulator! Then it is toast. Unless something strange occurs I will just leave it where it is.

Well the vacuum issue improved but not resolved. At this point it has to be the carb. I have plugged/checked/changed every vacuum line and also sprayed carb cleaner at all the possible leak points watching for RPM change - nothing. So will live with it for now - idles around 900 vs 600/650. Got other projects to complete - particularly the windshield/sand & repaint windshield channel/new dash install/new headliner install/ and some random weatherstripping. I did try to check the timing but my Sears/Craftsman 1975 (or so) timing light is not working - what's with that? They just do not make anything to last anymore - but the instructions do have the electrical schematic and detailed parts list - a project for another day....

Kids will be here for Sunday dinner - brisket! - things progressing for their house purchase,

Regards, Roy

Good evening all,

Great Day!  Bourdais P5 in #14 from 16th on the grid.  Kellett top 20 and ahead of a 7 time champion as well. Swept house and moved stuff out of shed and picked up trash in the yard.  Semi good weather.  Did nothing yesterday except go to Mass.  Friday night went to daughter's junior high musical.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

55 and cloudy. Rain? 30% chance. Got some on line forms to fill out for physical theropy this afternoon. Haircut before that.

Got second coat of Finish First on Caddy yesterday before going to SisterIL's. Wifey's Uncle and Cousin are here from Indiana. Have fifth wheel camper on open area on his part of the family farm. Well, septic and electric.

Enjoy your week.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 50 in the Potomac Highlands.  Trees all light green, with redbuds intermixed.  Finally got the phlox out of here, and in the ground.  Wifey supervised.  FifeMax ruined the day by attacking neighbor's dog. He's insufferable. Bang Head  Oldest Princess went skydiving this weekend.  Wifey and I like rodeos, so we hope she tries bull-riding next...

Surprised the Mrs. with some nice hanging flower pots, and she wants to buy more now.

Almost done new scenery section, and started vacuuming up hot glue stringies. Woof.

Good Afternoon!!

Friday night was hang at my house night, had dinner and entertained Smurf the Wonder Cat.  Did some light clean up on the layout.

Saturday got up early and took Jenni to her house to fetch her wheels, made her breakfast then she was off to work. On the way to Mom's stopped at HD for some board, scres, gray primer and spray adhesive.  At Mom's for housework.  My BIL and Sister came over to replace the 3 lights around the garage doors, I finally got a call from my tax guy.  2 months....but a nice fat refund from the Feds and the Nazis in the state capital......

Spent an hour on the layout, cut the board any laid everything out.  Looking good so far - still more work and wiring to do..........

www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVU73w0Tp-k

So, the gray primer - looks good for sidewalks and concrete.  Did a quick rough up on the board and sprayed - its a bit light, but this will be good enough, after I etch in the gaps for the curbs and expansion joints with the dremel.

Depending on how I wire this up I may need another 3V source for Spring/Summer.

Dinner at my house with Jenni after Church, at little more attic time, the watched Unhinged - which was, in my opinion, eh.  Russell Crowe seems have to surrendered to the good life.  Ms. Jenni says he looks like John Goodman.....

Sunday was a lazy day, we blew off the local car show and went back to Jenni's to feed her animals.  I cut the grass, relocated a rosebush and replanted a Hyacinth.  On the way back to my house, we stopped at an estate sale, I found a 637 with tender, pickle vat car, 2 gondolas and 2 flat cars and a lighted caboose. 494 beacon, gateman - the gateman was missing - a couple of crossing signals in need of repair and a 1037(?) transformer - looks like the remnants of a a Super O set. Dusty but looks to be in GREAT shape. It also came with a lot of HO stuff, Atlas track and pier set, rolling stock, but alas, no motive power.  $75

We got Jenni's Vespa up and running and did a few things to make it road worthy.  Afterwards we ran to Philly to get the kids back from FLA USA, fed them and dropped Jenni back at her house.  In bed by 1130.

60's today - may try to get out of here a wee bit early - softball practice at 530 - I'll try to make it out of here to attend by 630.

Morning all.

Well, I get my train room measured for carpet Thursday. :) Then I guess wait about a month for them to put it in. Then I can start the rebuild, will have to go to Augusta, GA. to get the homasote. I'm thinking about 6 sheets. Doing 10' x 20' so will end up with a spot in the middle without any ( 2' x 2' ) but I can do a lake or something there. Before I had to get up on the train table to access the trains on shelves, so now I will have 4' on one side, 2' on the other side, and 3' on the one end. Between the two sides, I should be able to reach most of the trains with little or no problem on the wall that the table does meet.

71* going to 75* today they say.

Well that's about it for now, talk to you all later.

64 and going into the 70's.  You Yanks are trying to give us a hard time.  Sending cold air our way Thursday and Friday.  May have to put tarp over tomato baskets one morning.

Icing works. Sat for 30 minutes with both shoulder icing. Slept with no pain. Hurting now. Tylenol will help.

Dr. from contractor for Humana just left. Didn't tell me anything new. I think it is better for those who don't see a Dr. regularly. Nice guy from GA. Came here 20 years ago from Nigeria.

Not much on agenda. Mow the back yard as didn't have time Sat. when I mowed the front.

Mike, kindly keep your snohizo in Indiana. Thank you.

Fifedom had a little excitement around 2230 hours, as mama bear and two Cubs were in our back yard. Wifey was all excited. Hope they leave the trash alone...

Happy Mid Week

Was supposed to stay home last night and hit the sack early - alas, there were some things in Hamilton I needed to address.  I was home by 1030.

Jenni has completed a commission portrait and has another commission for an additional 6, they all need to be done by 1 June.  We'll be staying home more so she can complete her commissions.  Upside - we'll save money, down side, only attic time will be Saturday afternoons.  I can bring some of the projects to Jenni's which will help me and keep her company at the same time.  There are workarounds, will need to prioritize what needs to be done and complete them in order.

Another issue - Softball now starts at 6 and I work until 630 - I swear, the commissioners of the league are clueless.  SOME of us actually have to work for a living.....

Congrats on your son's wedding, Marty!

Nothing else in the queue - weather looks nice for now, line of thunder and lightning approaching this afternoon then frost and lows in the 30s, highs in the low 50s - Friday might be warmer.

Mornin' boys. Cloudy and 38 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Snowing pretty good an hour north of here, in Altoona. Wifey will be very unhappy when she awakes, because those bears that are "so cute" snapped off her birdie houses, in which two sets of bluebirds were nesting. It's a mama bear and two cubs. I hadn't put up the bird feeder, so I'm guessing that's what lead to that action.

Attended the local NRHS chapter meeting last night, and the guest speaker was my boss. It was a bit awkward, as recently "terminated" employees were seated next to me. And these ARE good guys. Anyway, he gave the status of the big steamer, and answered a few questions. I chatted with one of the HO club guys about hosting a train show on the WV side of the Potomac. We'll see...

The new scenery is all done, and I went back and fluffed up the old scenery along my canal portion. Then I cleaned up the train room in prep for my buddy Tom's visit this weekend. You all should encourage visitors, as it is the best catalyst for layout work.

Good Thursday Morning!!!

Fife - can they terminate volunteers? Youare are right, my my ex and her husband are coming in June - short time to get stuff done....

Fell asleep on the couch last night after work.  Woke up to eat and have a nice conversation  with my Jenni before crashing head first into my pillow.  NY Electric trains was on, but couldn't stay awake long enough to see if there were any "bargains".

Line of storms blew through about 4 and netted nothing but a short rain storm and lots of wind which persists - sun is out and 35 right now.

Drill tonight, not sure what's after.

Tomorrow I'll keep Jenni company, I may stop at my house and fetch the hard board.  I'll get the lines set up for the sidewalk and curbing, maybe use the dremel to cut the expansion joints and then paint it.  Black paint for the expansion joints.

Time to break out the compass to make my circle around the Christmas Tower (Thanks, Fife!)  Believe it or not, there was NO black construction paper at Staples....go figure.

Off to work!!
