Thanksgiving isn't changing for us as it's always just us and the kitties, but it just doesn't feel like Thanksgiving's this year.

On another forum, a member asked what are you thankful for this year,

To be alive is the first thing

Have a loving wife that puts up with my crap.

Have a nice home and food on the table

I think they're the top things on my list.

How about you all

Just passing by. After 36 hours with two of the grandkids and there dog I slept like a rock last night. Kids and wife put all the decorations up for something to do. Been raining full time going on third day now.

Thanksgiving will be a brunch with them, mom and dad and then sending them to their other grandparents. Wife and I got a small bird for the evening meal. I got to agree, it does not feel like the holidays this year so far. Kids will not return to school till sometime in Jan, if then?

Prayers for all in need and enjoy as much as you can, but be safe you old guys. Wink

Centerville!  I know where that is!  About a two-hour drive from where I live.  Just north of there off Route 28 is the Dulles Expo Center on Willard Road, the Greenberg show comes there about twice a year, but not this year for obvious reasons.

A good show, but it doesn't seen to draw the amount of exhibitors that the Edison show does.  The "World's Greatest Hobby On Tour" show was up there in February and that was a blast!  Unfortunately it probably won't be back for another five years.

Check my "Happy Tanks-A-Giving" post if you haven't done so already, you'll get  a kick out of it!

Good evening all,

Guess I have been busy the past few days.  Good to hear from you, Roy.  Prayers for your continued recovery.  Wife and I did a few errands together this afternoon.  Has been a long time since we were able to do that.  Going to my sister's for Turkey Day.  Weather was warm but wet today.  Did get to see the Honda train this week, one was a mixed freight with some tank cars as well.  I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.

Keep on training,

Yep. Just wrapped up!

For those wondering what we're talking about (there probably aren't too many) here's the rousing climax of "March Of The Wooden Soldiers," a.k.a. "Babes In Toyland."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8cH02wQuoQ

And a rousing "OOOOO-RAH!" to those wooden soldiers!

What an achievement!  86 years have come and gone, there's been other versions of "Babes In Toyland," but no-one's topped Stan and Ollie!  What comic geniuses!

We hope everyone has had a good Thanksgiving.

We did a nice brunch with daughter and clan around 11:00am. So we were down to just six this year. Son called and talked some, then I put a small bird less the wings and legs into the oven WAY tooo soon wanting to eat about 5:00pmn. The dang thing was done by 2:00 and we were still stuffed from brunch but we ate anyway and have lots of leftovers to deal with.  Dinner  Ick!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Made a 20lb turkey today with a special 'rub', then set the roaster on 325 and roasted it for 8 hours. Man that sucker was juicy!!!

Last Sunday I did an 8lb pork shoulder in the crock pot. 14 hours on low. Pulled it the next day and got a "that is better than Pruits" from my FiL. Pruits is a BBQ join outside Gadsden Alabama near TheQ's family farm. They've been eating it since before she was born, so for FiL to give me that praise was definitely a proud moment.

Prayers for Roy, Banks, Fife's mom and anyone else in need.

Hello there,

Hope all had a good Thanksgiving. Should be sleeping but wide awake, napped most of the afternoon. Mrs and I had a quiet day.  Not having to prepare for an evening feast was nice but missed having the whole clan here, especially the annual Thanksgiving Thanksgiving family photo.

Best try to sleep. Prayers for those in need and the end of this pandemic..

Off down east to hunt.  Back tonight.  Only one there today.

Have a good one.

Bucks are back.  No shooters for me though.  Saw 5 I know and probably the other deer was one of the spikes.  Last three 200 yds out when I saw them in shooting lane.  Nibbled corn until 150 yds out and dark.  Two had gleaming antlers so good racks [on 10X].  If I can't see the points, I don't shoot.  30 minutes earlier and I could have seen.  Enjoyed the hunt.  Relaxing.

Don't we just love this software.

Got to get two new sets of NS splinecars on the track that came yesterday.

Wondered why no one posted.  Thanks Dennis.

Sunny and 56.  Stomrs tonight.  Suppose to be gone by noon tomorrow.  We'll see.

Being lazy as Wifey gone till this afternoon.  Maybe some errands I didn't get done yesterday.  Took Caddy and had it super cleaned inside and out.  Had to sit and wait for a while.  Was pretty out so sat outside and watched.   Now it is clean.

Did get 2 new sets of NS spline cars and on the track.  Last set I switched the last trucks out to end of train device.  Ran the trains and all is well.

All stay safe and well.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 50's along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  A trip to Lowe's and some yard work today, as weather is dippin' after today.

FifePup and PupGal flying back to Orlando later on.  They brought the nice temps with them, and are taking them back south.

Painted some hardshell scenery yesterday in the train room.

Good morning all,

Got the tree up and all the boxes down yesterday.  Have to decorate tree and get haircut today and my chores will be done.  Have watched "Ernest Saves Christmas" and "Santa Claus: The Movie" so far.  Weather is nice today, but will turn miserable the rest of the week.  I hope everyone has a good day.

A quiet weekend on the North Bluff. Did some Cyber Monday shopping today for wifey and others. No stores till latter in the week when the crowds thin some and I get paid. Vacuum sealed up some of the left over Turkey into sandwich amounts and put it into the freezer for later. Had enough turkey for now. I am going to make turkey noddle soup tomorrow with the rest. Sounds like winter will get here tomorrow.
Enjoy!

Good Morning all!

Nice long weekend.  Worked on swapping out the layout from general trainage, to Christmas themed.  Need to put the scale PE on yet.

Quiet weekend with the kids and grandson.  Heleped a friend do some inventory on his layout, well under the layout.  Got some biking in as well.

Dad seems recovered from the Covid but needs PT to get up and moving again.  We couldn't get a hold of him on Thanksgiving all day.  Finally sent security up 3 times before they let us know he was ok.  I'm thinking he was upset being stuck there for the holiday.  Don't say I blame him.

I really want to thank everyone for the good wishes.  I appreciate it very much.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and stay safe ot there.

Rainy and 69.  Windy.  Suppose to be fair by noon.  Temps to drop and 25 by morning.  Finally a hard freeze.  That will get things and leaves will finish falling.

This afternoon, installing Battery Tender on widow lady's truck [was her hubby's].  Complaining about battery going dead.  Doesn't drive.  She is on the southern part of the county.  Near Frankie's.  He is meeting me to help.

Hope all stay well.

Hey all!

Survived Thanksgiving. We had a nice time, just family - 5 - I mustered the energy to make two scratch pies - pumpkin & apple. Good news is with all the weight loss I was able to eat all the pie I wanted! I have gained 7 of the 15 lbs lost - but hard to keep it on - up and down daily. Still have not received word of when radiation therapy starts - should hear this week. Not looking forward to it as I will be at peak miserable at Xmas, but we all want to get it over with. I am having better days - but each good day is followed by a bad day still. Kids came over early for family dinner yesterday and set up all the indoor Xmas decorations/tree for the missus and I. I sat on the sofa as grand overseer. Cool

Regards, Roy

Good Afternoon!!

Suffering from post holiday fatigue - there just isn't enough time in the day.......

17 attended the Thanksgiving bash, Jenni's sister (Colleen)and family came and were supposed to leave early but stayed later, they had a great time.  Her Mom and Dad came later, they forgot the time to be here, but the food was still hot, they left shortly after.  It was a success.  AND lots of left overs for me

Friday I did nothing, save for attend the Santa drive by parade - and that was a good time.  Spent time with Jenni afterwards.

Saturday, was almost the same scenario, but Jenni called me for help at her job, so I ran over and got the phone and assisted some customers.
Went to Mom's afterwards for leftovers and tree trimming.

Sunday was build day for Jenni's '73 Charger, and with the dealership's permission, we took pictures of our cars in front.  Apparently, they want us back with the cars for an interview on the quality of the Dodge brand - even though mine's a Plymouth....lol.

Had BK with my daughter and Mom with Jenni, got back to Jenni's late, but put up her N Scale trains on the coffee table.  I'll finish that Friday or Saturday......and then we can do her Z scale layout.  We will get the tree on Friday and then the Lionels will go up after the tree is trimmed on Sunday.

Nice to see Roy posting!!!

Prayers continue for Roy, FifeMom and MartyE's Dad!!

Raining like crazy here - 62F for the high, then 52 tomorrow after this storm leaves.

That's all from Central Jersey!!

Good evening all,

Good to see you post, Roy!  Good day at work, better than expected and got way more done than I thought I would.  Rain turned to snow here, but I did not have to drive anywhere.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,
