Flintlock - Ever since I was in grade school.  I had binders and folders with the STP Dodge emblazoned on them.  Got to spend a day with him on a security detail, and enjoyed a private conversation.  As genuine as they come.

Hump Day......

So just found out they called the state elections and, hmmmmm, funny thing, My ballot and Jenni's HAVE NOT BEEN COUNTED YET!!!!  How the F  do you do that if all the ballots haven't been counted!!!  I call BS.................

Ran over to Jenni's after work and sealed up her bedroom AC unit, so it'll be warmer up there.  Went over her catechism stuff, she has class tomorrow night.  Memorial service tonight, nominations for office for 2021.

65 today and sunny.

My 4-4-0 MTH tossed a traction tire, so that is on the list now.  Hopefully, my LHS has one.

Fife - I think a train ride with a crew like that would be EPIC....lol

Fife and Flint - So, you may ask, how did I got so MoPar-centric?  You can blame it on a Petty Blue Plmouth, then STP Orange and Petty Blue Dodges......From all I heard from friends, he is a class act.......Him and Big Daddy Don Garlits, whom I met, Don is a great guy as well.

That's all for now............

Fife and 'Devil, my aforementioned sister-in-law's hubby was blessed enough to meet The King himself several years ago and he would concur, Richard is a class act, all the way!

Living here in NASCAR country as we do we've spent the past 30 years looking for Petty collectables for him and have had pretty good luck, from car models to a life-size store display placard.  It's getting harder now since it's been years since he's driven, but last year we DID find a "Mister The King"  model for him from the movie "Cars," which I'm sure you've all seen.

I wish we could find him something like this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Dc3JDkEYR4

You might find this interesting as well:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9LFgsLQATc

PS:  My MTH 4-4-0's (five of them) tossed their traction tires years ago, I run them without them.  Since 19th Century trains were short consists anyway the traction tires aren't missed, they still pull just fine.

Why five?  They were on sale!  Big Smile

Good evening all,

Beautiful weather today.  Wife and I celebrated 42 years together with dinner at Chili's tonight after she lowered my ears for the first time in over a month.  (Combover was getting kind of shaggy).  More good news on the eye front as the doctor agreed to do the second laser procedure the same day as he does final check on left eye.  Doing that second laser work this year (when we have satisfied deductible) as opposed to early next year will save us something short of a grand.  (May have to buy a train to celebrate?)  All in all, it was a good day.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Where are all our good morning folks? I was drinking coffee and eating Wifey's good pumpkin bread. Shirt sleeve weather outside.

More leaf gathering today. Also climb on shelter roof and garage roof and blow off pine straw from neighbor's trees. Bet there is two bails on them.

BTW: single Mom next door is not at home. I went out front yesterday and her front yard was flooded. She has a major water leak. Under house was flooded so bad plumber would not crawl under and see what was leaking. She is up the street staying at her parents'. Think it has been leaking for days. We are on the same water line coming under the street. Our water pressure had been down for days.
I had checked my water by turning off valve in basement, waiting, turning it back on and no water rush in sounds. Will see if I can get Raleigh to give her a break.

Enjoy your day.

Good morning from Socialist New Jersey

Memorial Service went will and as planned.  Prior to, ran the meeting briefly, to open and close nominations for President of the association.  I was nominated for VP and will run unopposed.  Many of the association are not happy with the current President, but he will continue until his next term is up.  Jenni attended with me.

Had dinner afterwards a diner with a few of the members and it was a good time.

MikeC - Happy Anniversary and great news on the Missus eyes!!

Flint and Fife - Jenni has many Petty models and even has a signed poster in her kitchen area near the back door.....yup The KING rules....

65-70F today with sun and a breeze.

T G I F !!!!

Greetings from Central New Jersey - Lockdowns are coming!!

More restrictions are coming from the Emperor of NJ, not sure how much more damage he can do to this state - my taxes as well as my Mom's and Jenni's have all gone up - again.

Last night went over to see my Princess and set up her new phone.  Home afterwards, a couple of pizzas for one and I was off to bed.

Probably will head to Jenni's after work tonight.  Saturday will be cleaning up Halloween and planning Thanksgiving day dinner with Mom and my sister.  Probably run to Manahawkin and help with the Halloween clean up there as well.  I may try to sneak in a trip to my LHS......

Today through Monday is supposed to be in the 70s, I'm looking to do a motorcycle ride, I think Jenni has some Honey Do's she needs done.  We will negotiate this.  Probably last good weather until March, I'm thinking.

Just need to get through the day.....

Prayers for Roy!!

Back Later.................

Real warm. Goofing off this AM. Watched NBC news with Wifey who doesn't watch the news. Her words, "Go ahead and call it." "Tired of hearing this."
Virus is more important. Seems the mid-west is exploding especially in the rural areas. SD is at 51%.   Nation wide, we have set records for the last two days.

Off to the hunt around noon or so.

Have a good one.

Right now our plans are to flee this state once Tyler and Corey are finished with high school. Financially this state is barreling down the road to implosion

That's what we did when the opportunity came in 1987.  The implosion's been coming for years, it's just a matter of when.  Detroit on a grand scale.  It's truly sad.  The people up there deserve better but they're never going to get it without a cataclysm.  And there's still a lot of NJ we miss.

To paraphrase the Neil Diamond song, "Virginia's fine but it ain't home, Jersey's home but it ain't mine no more."

I spoke with Jenni Wednesday night about this......We MAY flee to Delaware, it's closer to our families, no state income tax and still has the beach.

It's a 1 party tax and spend state, Flint and Spank, you are both correct, it WILL implode.

I LOVE it here, but financially, it may be impossible for us to stay.

Hello there,

Roy........great to hear from you

Really bummed the way the election is going. Really skeptical. Seems ballots keep coming until the numbers go where they want.

Beautiful Indian Summer weather continues into next week. Been working on way overdue clean up and helping gimpy wife. Her left knee had her almost immobilized for a week or more. Starting to improve now. Yesterday went to Lowe's for downspout and stopped at Boscov's for a couple things. Two hours later we were on the way home. Did get a large portion of our Christmas shopping done. Today I repaired the front post light and added a photocell for added security. Then extended a downspout across the porch into the next gutter. Littlest grandaughters are here now. Trains being run.

Son had been considering a trip to Delta Pa to race on Sunday but opted to stay home and catch up on farming. Greenberg Show in Monroeville this weekend. Going to skip it too. Exploding Wuhan and lousy venue large part of that decision.

Off to bed as soon as the girls leave.

Prayers for those in need, those affected by the fires, hurricanes and the end of this pandemic.

Good evening all,

Busy day at work.  Good weather again.  Swept the house.  Yard work and footy tomorrow as well as Mass.  Wife keeps improving.  Got her going for short walks everyday trying to keep the blood sugar down.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Best of luck to Tyler on his SAT Spanky!  But I'll let you in on a little secret one of my high school teachers told me years ago.  Unless you're planning on attending a prestige college or university don't sweat the SAT's too much.  All most colleges care about is whether you can pay the bills, not what your SAT score is.  It helps to have a good one, no doubt, but it's not the be-all and end-all.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny and 57 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Will be watching the roundy-rounds all weekend.  I've also been working on the stockyard fencing, cutting and fabricating single planks out of a single, thin sheet of balsa.  Not a straight edge in sight, which is the look I'm trying for.

Yesterday, it was an all day trip back to Baltimore for the nephew's funeral.  His mother is still unconsolable.  The touching moment for me was when his younger,  severely autistic brother gave a eulogy, with clarity and confidence, that frankly I didn't know he had.  I was glad to make it back home before midnight.

Good Morning,

Fife,  Really sorry to hear about your newphew!  Such a terrible loss!  Prayers for your family and his mom!

Glad to hear Roy is doing better, no doubt he is going through hell.  Continued prayers.

Glad that the election is over!  Being the optimist that I am, I think that the country being re-united again, has the best chance with the current outcome.  I'm tired of all the fighting, even though I voted differently.

Still working on MIL's "stuff", making progress.  But what a tedious chore!  I definetly want to do something different for my situation!

Think I might be involved in wiring another layout in a week or so.  Not real big 16x14, 4 ovals and about 6 sidings, Ross/Gargraves, Legacy/DCS, and 5 or 6 accessories.  Will be a definite change of venue for me.  Does have 1 of the Ross double crossovers, (4 switches), which can be a pain, but have done them before.  Total 15 switches.

Glad to see Buckeye enjoying working at the museum, definetely an be fun.

Raining today, probably tomorrow as well, cooler and nice change.

Nascar championships this weekend, and sorting stuff here from MIL's.

Take care all and have a great day!

Don

I'm terrably unhappy and depressed about the election, the US will be in a big depression and bad times during my waining years. ABC TV is gloating right now, I hate them.

I know what you mean, I should be PO'd and depressed but you know, I'm not.  It is what it is.  At least the "Blue Wave" didn't materialize and the Democrats are fighting over what went wrong.  They're only a monolithic party (nationally) during election time, once the election's over the discipline always disappears.

Fox News (who I trust) called it for Biden, and that's enough for me.

You know, I wouldn't mind press bias so much if they weren't so self-righteous about preaching that they're not.  Press bias is as old as the Republic, they were just more open about it years ago.  There were Republican newspapers and Democratic newspapers and you paid your money and took your choice.

I'll tell you all something, I spent most of the 90's with a full-blown case of Bill Clinton derangement syndrome, and you know what?  It was a waste of my time and energy.  My attitude now toward elections?  OK, I go out and vote, but the results are what they are.  I'm not going to melt down over them, not anymore.

Good evening all,

Weather was great today.  Spent 3 hours outside working on leaves.  Went to Mass as well.  As far as the election is concerned, I too am glad it is over.  Concerning one party politics in a state, it is just as bad the other way.  Does not matter which side is in control, both are equally bad.  Republicans have a super majority in both branches and run roughshod over people here as well.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Sounds like NJ is as bad as Calif. also a total one-party state with Democrats outnumbering Republicans 2 to 1 and no hope for that to get any better. I'd move too if I wasn't so old. We did just dodge a bullet with the biggest tax increase ever failing.

You know I'm just glad the crap is over. And to be honest, I feel Trump beat himself. And that's why it ended as it did.

Morning all.

No real plans for today, I managed to get the first of two sheets of plywood of my expansion done last night, Still need to put some more supports in, but it is up there now. I have the 2 x 4's to build all the supports I need ( even for the next sheet ) but I still won't be able to start building on it yet. Need to get my ground covering for it. ( more carpet. ) Also, have to put some thought into how all is going to be on the expansion.

Hope all have been having a good weekend, talk to you all later.

Sadly, I have to concur.  I don't know how many times in the past four years I found myself muttering "For the love of God, keep your mouth shut!  Or at least think twice before you open it!"

There's a time for fastballs, curveballs, hardballs and softballs, but Mr. Trump never quite figured that out.  Too bad.

Prayers there.

Agree.

Still working on MIL's "stuff", making progress.  But what a tedious chore!  I definetly want to do something different for my situation!

Almost through with FIL's house.  Finally.

Back from the hunt last night.  No big ones but more deer moving.  Guess all the acorns are gone and they are back to the feeders.  Big gobblers love to steal corn and pellets.  Too hot to hunt.  Low was 55 and highs in high 70's.  November and short sleeves in the stand.  Even when you come down at night.  No frost as of yet.

Rain guessed for the week starting Monday night.

Have a great week ahead.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny and 60 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Thank you all for the kind words.  Headed over to Prego Princess castle to start painting baby room.  Hope it takes my mind off of things.

I did catch Grand National (I'm old school) yesterday.  It was good, and today's Nascar race should be better.  Then no sports until Daytona, unless I can catch some sailing races on youtube.  I have been watching some segments on the offspring of American Pharoah, which I find interesting.  Big money.

Curly Top was asked what he wanted for his 3rd birthday coming up. "Trains."

Good morning,
We have had a streak of fantastic weather so I have made it my goal to stay outside as much as I could. My neighbor and I cut a trail down to the creek and the wife and I have been clearing a nice area to sit and reflect. I have wanted to cut that trail for 16 years. Brain’s T190 Bobcat made short work of it.
Good thing is both Gators can pull the grade to get up the hill from the creek.
I will have to catch up with the posts next week as winter arrives.
The talking heads on TV are just not worth my time. Glad it is over but I am sure the drama will have to carry on. Like Don I just hope the next four years will be better than the last. The best thing about the new guy is he is not a compulsive twitter fool. Presidents are like bosses at work, if you like yours sooner or later, he will be replaced. If you hate yours sooner or later, he will be replaced. So just wait.
Fife, that is terrible about your nephew.  My God comfort his mother and family.
Hope Roy is doing well.

Is that why Antifa is still trying to burn down Portland ?

Raining today, probably tomorrow as well, cooler and nice change.

Snow in the local mountains, ski season should open next week unless Gov. Newsolini shuts everything down this week. Yesterday, 11/7, is more than likely the last day of the museum until at least past Turkey Day but more than likely not til the new year. We did have have a good crowd yesterday even with the restrictions in place.

I'll make a prediction.  The anarchists are going to be swept from the streets PDQ now that the Dems realise they're a major embarassment and/or they don't "need" them anymore.  We probably won't see it reported if and when it happens.

The anarchists are most likely a big reason the "Blue Wave" didn't materialize.

I lit it up for everyone, although a current-day "sweep" if it happens isn't likely to be so ugly.  It'll be more like the sweep the US Army did with the Bonus Marchers in 1932.
